Introduction: There are 2 main aspects that I love most about the work that I do. One is helping to reignite passion and compassion in couple relationships. No matter how long a couple has been together, they are always amazed by how much they still have to learn about one another and from one another. The second is helping people to identify their strengths. In a world that can be quite busy and unpredictable, it is easy to become overwhelmed and focused on the negative. I love taking a time out with my clients to truly focus on all that has been achieved and all the potential that is there for the future.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you connect with your therapist. I've heard friends, family, and new clients say that they tried therapy before but they didn't like their therapist or the therapist's viewpoint. This ultimately resulted in them having a negative experience so that they either a.) never returned to therapy or b.) waited for their problems to be completely unmanageable before finding someone new. It's so important to feel comfortable and feel like you can be honest with your therapist because you will be sharing intimate information. If you don't feel like you can truly be yourself then you won't get the most out of it.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I wish that people and society in general knew that therapy does not equal "crazy." Society has placed such a negative stigma on therapy that people avoid getting the support that they need for fear that they will be labeled as "crazy" or "incapable of handling their own problems." Therapy should be looked at as another form of self care, like getting a massage or going to the gym. You don't technically NEED to do either of those things but they sure will help you function better in life, especially when you're in pain. It's simply a means of taking care of yourself and improving your quality of life. It does not mean there's something "wrong" with you. And just like any other form of self care, you will feel so much better than if you had continued to let things go.
