About
I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher with over 30 years of experience. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance (Manhattan School of Music) and a Master of Music degree in improvisation (University of Michigan). Building a caring and trusting relationship with my students and their families is my primary focus. My unique approach to learning enables each student to discover and explore their own musical path. Having performed throughout the US, Europe, and Asia, I have enjoyed a career as a multi-instrumentalist and composer in all genres of music. My eclectic knowledge offers a well-rounded atmosphere for all ages, styles, and abilities. My NW Portland studio provides a safe and creative environment for learning and is gender-inclusive.
I am currently offering in person and zoom lessons in violin, composition, and improvisation. For more information, please visit reginasadowski.com.

Warm, kind, and experienced, Regina is one of the most helpful and encouraging teachers I’ve had. Learning the violin can be quite challenging, and Regina helps to make it much more approachable. She meets me right where I am in learning the instrument, helping to zoom in on difficulties and make them easier to digest. Highly recommended!

Regina taught our daughter to play the violin for many years. More than that, she taught her how to face challenges that she thought beyond her, whether it was a particular piece for the violin or a fingering technique or a composition. I will never forget Regina's introducing my daughter at her performance in Carnegie Hall of a composition by Elizabeth she oversaw with love and care.

For each new student, I schedule a brief phone call beforehand to prepare for the first lesson and to give us a chance to get to know each other. I have a Bachelor of Music from Manhattan School of Music and a Master of Music from the University of Michigan.
