Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: While there are several shops in town offering "cheap" repair, we stand out by truly offering a great experience from start to finish - not just fixing your computer, but helping to make recommendations and answer questions along the way. Most of our repairs can be completed within 24-48 hours depending on parts availability. Try getting the Geek Squad to do that! I love being able to use my technical expertise to quickly solve problems and cost effectively repair issues, but more than that - the look on a customers' face when we can fix a problem quicker than they thought or the "Thank You" at the end of the day that helps somebody else.

All of the team are amazing! I had a problem with my work laptop and brought it in to the after multiple quotes from other repair shops. Not only were they 1/2 the price of they other shops, they were much nicer and went out of their way to help me! I needed a keyboard fixed, and as it was my work computer I needed it done fast. They ordered the parts, I dropped off the computer on a Friday, and by Sunday, they came back to the shop and opened it just for me so that I could pick up my computer in time for work on Monday. I have never had better customer service anywhere! This is the ONLY place I will take my computer from now on, I just can't say enough about these guys!

Joseph was all that and a bag of chips. He fixed my unorthodox problem and only charged less than half of what was quoted prior. This was because he was honest and did not try and upsale me anything. On top of all that there was some unknown problems after I returned home to set up my computer he again helped me with no hezatation. As long as he is in business I will use him Thanks Joseph

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Portland Computerworks has a tiered pricing structure that ranges between $69 - $129 for labor. This excludes water damage and data recovery. Otherwise, $129 is the most you'll pay for labor - and that's very rare. We have a $25 Diagnostic Service Fee that gets credited towards labor upon repair - essentially making your Diagnostic free. If you decide the repair isn't cost effective (which we'll usually be the first to tell you if it's worth the money to put into your machine), then you're just out the $25 Diagnostic Fee.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started working on computer when I was about 10 years old - my Dad sat me down on his lap and told me: "These things are going to be important one day - you should learn everything you can about them." He helped quench my thirst for knowledge by always having something I could work on / fix. After joining the U.S. Airforce, they provided me with additional education and training that was a perfect fit for the type of work we do now at Portland Computerworks.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We end up seeing a lot of Malware/Viruses on systems that cause a number of problems. Additionally, we end up repairing issues from drops or liquid spills - Laptops that need new screens, or motherboards that can be repaired due to water damage.
