Brian rebuilt our deck last summer, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. This was a roughly 400 square-foot deck that had to be completely demolished and rebuilt from scratch.
Brian came out on a rainy day to meet with us, talk through what we wanted, and go over the details. About a week later, he provided a very thorough, detailed quote. It wasn’t the cheapest quote we received, but it was by far the most comprehensive, and we felt confident in the materials he proposed and his overall approach.
Once the weather improved, they got us on the schedule and started work. We did run into a couple of permit-related delays that extended the timeline, but Brian and his team were excellent to work with throughout and kept us informed the entire time.
The finished deck turned out beautiful and feels incredibly solid. With proper maintenance, this should be the last deck we ever need. Highly recommend.

Working with Brian was great. He was very communicative when I had questions and in discussing the project, is self-directed, and he finished up the job when he said. No loose ends. I really appreciate working with him on my strange deck job where I was not present much of the time, and he had to figure out how to undo an error in the deck's original installation around a hot tub. I can easily recommend him to anyone.

I contacted Brian about building a Trex deck for my parents. He was very responsive and was able to set up a site visit and get back to us with the bid quickly. After we decided to hire him, he coordinated dates for the job and planned it all out down to the materials delivery day. He emailed and text me and my parents which worked great since they were at the job site and could make design and schedule decisions. He was on time and EVERYTHING happened just as he’d scheduled it. If you haven’t hired a contractor before - that is rare. And makes things so much easier. Brian is very personable and common sense oriented including saving us a trip to the hardware one day! My parents both felt very comfortable with Brian and the help he brought and we are all extremely pleased with the deck. It came out beautifully and is so much sturdier and safer than the old wood deck. After the job was complete, my parents decided to add a step that wasn’t in the original plan and Brian came back as soon as his schedule allowed to complete it too. If we had another project, we would hire him again and will certainly refer anyone we know looking for a builder to him!

Brian, owner of Beyond Borders provides excellent service at a reasonable price. He was timely in making an estimate and scheduling the job. He showed up on time and takes pride in his work.
The fence is extremely well made. He reinforced some posts by raising and widening the concrete in an area where underground barriers prevented the correct depth for the posts. Brian knows how to solve unforeseen problems. The previous fence was weak because no one had taken the time to address the underground issues that compromised it after a very short time.
Brian treated my situation as if he were building a fence for his own home - where he would want the investment to last for the longterm. He made these adjustments without asking for an additional payment.
I have a densely planted garden with many shrubs very close to the fence. Brian was very careful not to disturb any of them. When he replaced the fence around my deck he was careful to note where plants and statues were located and he replaced each of them upon completing the fence. He was also conscientious about cleaning up sawdust from sawing boards, and hosed down areas that got muddied due to the rain.
Brian worked to complete the job whether it was rain or shine - and it was a rainy period for much of the 3-1/2 day project.
I highly recommend you seek an estimate from Brian, as I am certain you will be glad you did. My fence is bordered by 3 neighbors. All of us shared in this project, and all 3 of us are extremely pleased with the outcome!

I provide a free quote which is usually done on-site. Sometimes it can be done through pictures and measurements provided by the customer. If no on-site estimate is needed, I provide a discount on the total price.
