From backyard birthdays and graduation parties to anniversaries, weddings, and milestone celebrations, I build each performance around the people in the room—not a prepackaged setlist.
Some clients want Fleetwood Mac and the Beatles around a backyard fire pit. Others want Motown for a milestone birthday, country favorites for a graduation party, or a Latin band for a wedding celebration. The music should fit the occasion—not the other way around.
That’s why I don’t believe in cookie-cutter playlists or one-size-fits-all bands.
Every event begins with a conversation about your guests, your musical tastes, and the atmosphere you want to create. From there, I build a performance that fits your celebration—whether that’s a laid-back acoustic duo, a lively party band, or something in between.
With more than 30 years of professional performance experience, I’ve learned that great event music isn’t about playing the same songs at every party. It’s about understanding the crowd, reading the room, and creating the right soundtrack for the people you’ve gathered together.

The choice to hire Eliza Rush and her band did not come quickly. After interviewing several quality artist, I knew I discovered the right professional for this important family event. She was responsive, enthusiastic and accommodating to our several changes. Even day of event when the start time had been adjusted earlier, Eliza made the change work with no drama. I was looking for a band to perform at an outdoor pool 95th birthday party. Family, friends and neighbors would be there, so I wanted someone good. Not knowing Eliza Rush nor her music, (she responded to my request almost immediately), I listened to some of her original stuff on You Tube, and realized she has a great voice. After responding to her, she asked me what I was looking for, what type of music I liked. I like a lot and told her Motown, Classic Rock, Oldies, Blues rock and Country. After hearing this, she told me she had the perfect group of guys to perform at my party. I figured Eliza’s voice was very good, how bad could the band be? Well, they were not only good, they were great! Eliza coordinated my requests and the band performed all the genres of music I requested. Totally exceeding my expectations! In addition to that, the band members performed vocally as well as Eliza. From singing “My Girl” by the Temptations to Johnny Cash to John Denver and Neil Diamond, to singing “Birthday” by the Beatles, they performed it all. What I liked most about Eliza’s band was that it didn’t seem like work to them. They were constantly smiling while performing and seemed to be having as much fun as my guests! What a great night, I was fielding compliments about the band all night! Eliza and her band were the cherry on top of the birthday cake!

Eliza and her team were beyond excellent and an absolute pleasure to work with. They WAY over-delivered and made the night so memorable. Eliza's bandmate, Ian, played keyboard beautifully during happy hour before we moved to a tented area where the full band ROCKED for 3 hours... And then we asked them to play another 30 minutes, which they did, before concluding with Bruce's Dancing in the Dark to surprise my wife (a custom request for her favorite song). Eliza also made the booking process seamless and communicated clearly from the first outreach to the last. They showed up an hour+ early for setup and sound check. Truly a pleasure to work with the entire crew and I could not recommend them more highly.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My minimum fee is $1200 for a solo performance. Typically I can perform up to 3 hours for that price.
Because every project is different, I'm happy to provide custom price quotes tiered for up to a 10 piece band. I also offer "packages" for weddings that include ceremony and cocktail hour, and/or the reception. This way you can find the perfect balance for your budget and music entertainment needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically the customer will email me to start the conversation. We'll then schedule a quick call to go over specifics.
From there, I will issue a contract and take a 50% deposit to hold the date.
Any questions and follow up calls are welcomed once the date is confirmed.
The balance is due on the day of the performance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a classically trained pianist and singer. I have 2 music degrees (Bachelor of Music: Vocal performance, Master of Music: Choral Conducting). I am a self-taught guitar player, and have experience on many other instruments as well. My education is what first gave me the opportunities to be on a stage performing in front of others.
I now perform regularly as a soloist/duo/trio/band at over 50 events a year.
