Anthony's Couture Property Maintenance company did an outstanding combined gardening/mulching job on my front lawn, including trenching and mulching along one side of the house. First, within a couple of hours after my initial request, Anthony responded with some detail about his work, including an impressive list of reviews. Second, he committed time to come to my home for an assessment of what I wanted done. I was very impressed with his listening skills and the suggestions he offered, based on his having listened well to what I wanted done. He took before-the-job photos and by the evening of the same day had sent a detailed estimate for labor and materials. In additional to good listening skills, Anthony communicates well. He kept in touch regarding plant and tree purchase, weather/rain issues, and the need for an updated start date. He and one of his team arrived on time and worked steadily according to the requested layout. They cleaned up the sidewalk and street area of debris, including hosing down my driveway. The result is beautifully manicured beds with trees and plants layed out as requested. Anthony impressed me as focused and conscientious about his work. I highly recommend his services and would use his company again in the future. Regards, Theresa Ware

Chris is a dedicated craftsman and a true gentleman: respectful and kind. He's a natural people person and his patience with all my questions, in addition to fair pricing, was the deciding factor for me in choosing Anfuso over his competitor. He involved me in the details of any aesthetic decisions and kept me informed of all the What Why and How, which I greatly appreciate. Chris also generously offered ideas and suggestions regarding landscaping and outdoor property maintenance. I will certainly refer to him for any future projects. I'm very happy with my beautiful fence and can't wait to start gardening in the spring! Thanks Chris!

Honest. Hard working. Meticulous. Clean. On time. If you can get Luden and his crew you're in luck. Hands down the best that I have worked with. They dig mulching, dig in unique flower beds, spring clean up, light planting and garden tilling. Great guys. Will use again.

Sandy and Charlie are very careful gardeners - our plants are hand-pruned, and the garden tidied up. We have a yard bordered by long-established perennials and flowering bushes and trees, and they recognize them, and know when to prune so as not to lose the year's blooms. They come when they say they will, and let us know when heavy rain made it impossible to work. They will be coming back every month as necessary, and we're looking forward to a beautiful garden. Very pleasant people to work with.

She’s just about the best thing that has ever happened to our flower beds! Weeds are gone and haven’t returned. Nice topiary work on our ragged Alberta spruces also.

Michelle and the guys were great. I had a fairly large cleanup job on a hilly property that involved a lot of work in tiered gardens and around existing landscaping: they did an excellent job getting things back into good order. Will be moving ahead with them for regular scheduled maintenance. Highly recommend.

I pride myself in doing the very best job I can do. I have never done a garden that didn't meet or exceed the customer's expectations and I often get praise of my own garden... I love to do this! And I'd love to do it for you The thing I find the most satisfying is completing a garden and standing back and looking at all of the colors

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
