He responded very quickly. He came over to check out the problem within a day, and got me a tempory fix while we waited for a part. Part arrived, and repairs were completed before the end of the week.

I had two projects #1 Remove and replace bathroom vanity, which was done well except that the bottom inside vanity was put in backward (not a big deal as it's not visible) #2 Install new door frame and mitigate dry rot under the door sill. The dry rot was taken care of very well despite the downpour. A new door frame and sill were purchased for this project but were not used because Gerhard chose without asking to use one from another project that was meant for a different door. New holes for the latches and hinges had to be made, and old holes filled. At the time, it was money saved, but if I had been told ahead of time, I would have insisted on using the new frame. With the storm door and metal door rehung, everything looked fine. The next day, however, when I tried to leave the house, my storm door was jammed shut and took quite a bit of force to open. I called and asked Gerhard to come correct the problem and was told he would come by the next time he was in the area. I sent him a video of the problem but got no reply. Further investigation revealed that the storm door is leaning. I examined the exterior of the frame to discover that there was no caulking around the door at all except for the sill and flashing. On the interior, the trim is not square or flush with the frame and overlaps, causing the door latch to catch on it, and the deadbolt is too tight to allow my digital lock to operate. I have to hire another handyman to correct the mistakes for safety reasons. I'm very disappointed.

We got a quote on 9/13. Gerhard was very prompt in coming to the house to look at the work that needed t o be done. As of 10/27, we have still not received an estimate. I have called and was told he thought he sent an email estimate, and would send it out again. I sent an email message to remind him and and make sure he had the correct email address. It is impossible to review his work because he hasn't done any work for us at this time. I hate to give a poor rating, but if after 7 weeks we haven't heard anything back, it is a sad state of the business. Perhaps this is more the average for this industry, I'm not sure, but we should have at least been told that he schedule was so full that it would be awhile before he could get to our projects. Gerhard seems like a great guy, but it is frustrating on our end.
