I hired this moving service through Thumbtack to help unload a moving truck into a storage unit. The owner arrived with a very young helper who appeared to be of high school age. Had this been disclosed beforehand, I would have appreciated the opportunity to discuss whether that arrangement was appropriate for the heavy lifting required. According to my husband, who was present during the unloading, he ended up assisting significantly more than expected because the younger mover struggled with some of the heavier items. At one point, a bag containing heavy belongings was tossed rather than handled carefully, which was concerning. Because my husband had to spend so much time supervising and helping with the unloading, the storage unit was ultimately not organized the way we had anticipated. Our expectation was that items would be stacked efficiently and placed along the walls to maximize space and leave a clear walkway. Instead, the unit was left cluttered and will require additional work on our part to reorganize. The owner was courteous, and the job was completed, but I believe customers should be informed in advance if a very young or inexperienced helper will be assisting with a physically demanding move. Better care with belongings and more attention to organization would have resulted in a much better experience. Nonetheless, we both thank you for today’s work.

I’m sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. My helper is younger in appearance, but he has assisted on a number of moving jobs and continues to gain experience. I understand your concern regarding the physical demands of the move and your preference to have been informed beforehand. Regarding the unloading and organization of the storage unit, we did our best to work within the available space and complete the job efficiently. However, I understand that the final arrangement was not what you had envisioned, and I apologize for any frustration that caused. I also take your concern about the handling of belongings seriously. We strive to treat every customer’s items with care, and I will address this feedback with my team to ensure we continue improving.
