Mr. Barry and his moving crew were a pleasure to work with (courteous and efficient). My piano was also skillfully tuned so it’s ready for my family to enjoy.Sep 4, 2020Verified

5 stars for Bob! His team moved my grand piano for over 100 miles, started in the morning and finished with a tuning. the piano was packed professionally and Bob took great care of it. he sent pictures before leaving the starting point and kept the communication open with calls and texts. He has passion with his work and i could feel it when he was tuning it. at the end, he played a work composed by himself which was beautiful.Jul 4, 2020Verified

Bob was excellent to work with! He was honest and upfront with cost, responded quickly to communication and gave no bull. He arrived on time and got everything done timely with his team. He took good care of my piano moving it, and spent a lot of care and attention to stretching the strings and tuning. If you need someone affordable to move your piano, don’t hesitate to call Bob!Apr 15, 2020Verified

I contacted 4 movers & Bob Barry was the first & only person to respond. He & his crew of workers were prompt, efficient, personable! They moved the newer piano to our church & removed the old one. Bob took his time tuning our piano. He did a wonderful job & gave us great advice on keeping our piano in tip top shape. I HIGHLY recommend Bob Barry ! Thank you for the excellent job & your hospitality!Feb 13, 2020VerifiedBOB BARRY PIANO SPECIALIST / SOUNDSCAPE ARTIST's reply
Hello Gloria, Thank you so much for your stellar review. It was a true pleasure meeting and serving you. And what a small world that your husband knew my late father and his family. Great day!! Best wishes, BOB BARRY

Bob was very professional, reasonably priced, and provided a great service by moving a piano to our home and tuning after the move. He clearly knows his pianos and is very experienced. I would recommend him to anyone looking for piano moving or tuning services.Jul 31, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. All my quotes related to piano moving are based on time, distance to and from all locations, number of steps inside or out, size of piano (sometimes larger than average pianos require extra manpower) and fuel. Please note that sometimes by coincidence, if we have two or more inquiries within relatively the same area, and requested time frames, I will work up a special "share the ride" quote for everyone who can be flexible enough to make it work. When a tuning is included the same day of move, a 10% discount is applied to the entire job. Please note, we no longer move pianos "UP" full flights of stairs, however anything we can accomplish with assistance of a 8 foot long and 3 foot wide ramp which we always carry is a possibility. I accept cash, personal & business checks and cards through my “square” app. However, there is a 3% upcharge on card payments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? This type of service is most efficiently accomplished by a simple phone call to my cell. In less than 5 minutes we can exchange all the details necessary to put together a reasonable quote. The things I need to know are the piano type (upright or grand), height or length, number of steps in or out of each location and the addresses for pick up and delivery. I will also advise them to read my reviews and know that there is certainly no obligation to sort out the whole process quickly - then decide if we are a good fit.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Though I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bloomsburg University (73), my training began in 1974 when I purchased my first baby grand piano and decided I wanted to learn everything I possibly could about caring for, servicing, and moving my piano, as it was on the road with me from the get go. I was apprenticed by two gentlemen whose combined experience totaled over 80 years. Now in my 44th year and delivering 5-star service, I certainly feel confident in all that I do.
