I had a very mixed experience with Squeaky Clean. Here is what went well and impressed me: Nicole was very conscientious and helpful. She worked around my schedule and juggled the company's jobs so that they could fit me in during their busiest time of the year. She did not have to do this and she went above and beyond in this regard - contacting me at night and on weekends. Also, Fred (Nicole's husband/co-owner) even came to my house to meet me and oversee the job. There was no need for him to do this on a Sunday and I appreciated it greatly. The work itself was also well done. The carpets looked and smelled great! The cleaners were professional and hard-working and they did a terrific job. However, there were a few glaring issues. First, is the cost. When I put my job request here on Thumbtack, I listed everything that was to be done. I received three prices in return and Squeaky's was $150. When it came time for the cleaning, Fred informed me it was $250. While we discussed the matter, he was very cordial and understanding, but he said they would never do a job like mine for that cost. My laptop had been stolen the day before, so I could not pull up the estimate for him (I now have screenshots). I don't think this was malicious or deceitful, I just believe there was a mistake made when I received the estimate. The other issues were in regard to the cleaning - the machine was placed on the floor downstairs and then hoses were run upstairs to handle the cleaning. There was a new laminate floor under the machine downstairs and there was quite a bit of liquid that spilled out that I had to clean up so as not to damage the floor. Also, there were significant areas where the paint of my upstairs railing was chipped off by the hoses used by the cleaners (I have photos of this as well). The rubbing back and forth of the hoses from downstairs to upstairs wore away some of the brand new paint I had just had done a week prior and I had to do those touchups myself. I did not realize this had happened until after the cleaners had left, so that is why I had not mentioned it. As I said, my experience was mixed. I honestly believe that Fred and Nicole are trying their best and want to make their customers happy - the fact that they spent so much time on a minor job proves this, but they need to either update their Thumbtack estimate or be more careful what they offer on here. Also, maybe they should provide their cleaners with mats or something else to protect items like my floor and railing. As far as the job itself, I have no complaints - the carpet cleaning was excellent.
