Introduction: I have really quick turn around times because all of my processing is done in house. After a session ends I'm so excited to take a look at the images and start editing that I usually begin post production as soon as I'm at my desk! The reactions I get from people when they see their photos for the first time. Photography is my favorite way to remind people how beautiful they are.

I'm extremely meticulous about woring worth the right photographer and working with Sam has been unmatched! I've hired her for different events and headshot sessions. Our shoots have been very professional and an absolute pleasure! No one has ever gotten me more comfortable in front of a camera. After every session, I've received a plethora of photos, all edited in a timely matter and have yet to be disappointed! Amazing photos, great attitude and memories that last a lifetime that's what I got when I went to photographer Samantha Shuma. I had the opportunity to work with this photographer twice (once for a portrait shoot and another time for a boudoir shoot). The portrait shots came out absolutely amazing! She's very creative and has a keen eye for detail. When it came to the boudoir shoot, even though I started out shy, Samantha's professional and fun attitude made me feel super comfortable. I would recommend this photographer to anyone looking for great photos and a positive experience.

I've done two shoots with Sam. The first was for outdoor portraits - it was my first time posing & she made me feel super-comfortable in front of the camera. She also made me look beautiful! So obviously we hired her for my graduation as well. The photos are awesome - shots of the ceremony, great close-ups with my diploma, family photos, & even a few sneaky ones of me during the ceremony from the sidelines. Sam's got a funny and easygoing personality and a meticulous eye for detail, so she'll do whatever it takes to get the shot she's after and make you feel comfortable and confident while she's at it.

After working with the Army as a Freelance Point of Contact (branding multiple Battalions, Commanders, Colonels, Command Sergeant Majors, etc.) for the last three years, it came time to photograph the assets I created (logos, patches, posters, military coins, custom bomber jackets, apparel, presentation templates, medals, etc.) to place in my professional portfolio. At first, I was extremely meticulous in searching for the right photographer to hire; I wanted to find someone who could not only photograph my work professionally, but capture the essence of the subject matter in an aesthetic that closely resembles my own personal branding styles as well (I am a Graphic Designer/Illustrator/User Experience Designer). When I came across Sams work in her portfolio, I knew I was looking in the right place. I immediately noticed her artistic approach, appreciation for photography, aesthetics, flexibility shooting a multitude of subjects (weddings, products, etc.) and most importantly an eye for capturing emotion. It isnt a secret that Sam absolutely loves what she does. After an incredibly painless consultation, setting up a date for the photoshoot was a breeze; She arrived (10 minutes early) with her camera, lenses, lights, stands, etc. with a smile on her face. After speaking about her approach, process, lighting, comfort with product photography, aesthetic goals, etc., I gathered the assets I created for the army and allowed her to work her magic. My experience with Sam has been unmatched; working with her was an absolute pleasure. If at any point I had a question (or comment), Sam was never more than a call/email away and was always very prompt and professional about answering. During the shoot, Sam took an incredible amount of photos. She not only took photographs of the branding assets isolated, but also high quality macro shots, group display arrangements, experimental shots, and shots that included techniques I wasnt even aware existed. Sams editing process was clearly defined. Her shooting process was carefully articulated. The delivery date was met without any problems. Files were delivered in a high quality format, and her payment process was an absolute breath of fresh air. If you want true quality, professionalism, knowledge of craft, a great attitude, passion, and have a need for a photographer: Make it your goal to hire Sam. I wouldnt recommend anyone else.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I listen to endless photography podcasts while I edit and read photography blogs in my spare time.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I don't know if I chose photography or if it chose me! I vividly remember taking my fist photo when I was 4. I was camping with my parents and they asked me to take their picture by a lake. When it came time to choose a college major, photography just made sense.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Lifestyle Portraits! I also do a lot of weddings and events but even those jobs tend to involve some sort of portrait throughout the day.
