David Tabatsky is one of those rare individuals in modern day publishing who consistently shines in all three of the industry's most fundamental criteria: writing, editing and administrative skills. He would be an asset to any organization seeking someone whose love of words is matched only by his proficiency at putting them together.
kathryn in an eagle-eyed proofreader, a better-than-average editor and writer. She edited a book of mine on right-wing terrorism, and caught the textual errors that, otherwise, I'd have missed. The book is complex, not an easy read, and she proved to be a first-rate editor. I highly recommend her
Awesome! Kennerly is amazingly talented, helpful and wise. She is punctual, concise, and creative. She content edited my first draft and helped me to be consistent with my voice throughout my non-fiction book. Kennerly also encouraged me and is very professional. I plan to continue to work with her and will recommend her services.
I provide professional editorial services that offer the following: - timely delivery - responsiveness to author's needs - reasonable fees As a published author of three books on negotiation (one of which was named to Harvard Business Review's list of top ten titles for the year) and numerous web-based and journal articles, I am comfortable handling all phases of the publishing process -- from copy editing to proofreading and fact-checking. My background in consulting and academic credentials and experience in editing, first as a copy editor at Presbyterian Life, national magazine of the Presbyterian Church, and subsequently as manuscripts editor at Daedalus, journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, have equipped me both to deal with the rigors of scholarly work and to protect an author's voice in fiction and nonfiction. Accustomed to accommodating tight deadlines, I promise a quick and responsive turnaround working, from either disk or hard copy. Fees are negotiable, depending on the project's scope, at an hourly rate ($20/hour) or a fixed price.

Over the last 2.5 years, David Gertler has helped me edit a book I am writing about chess. As a philosophy professor, I have had 12 books published in the last decade (mostly new editions of textbooks), and so I have extensive experience with editors, proofreaders, compositors, and so on. Mr. Gertler's work has been exemplary -- helpful, insightful, and prompt. He has done research for me, improved my prose, and noticed apostrophes that were backwards. He has marked up around 35 different chapters (sometimes multiple drafts), totaling several hundred single-spaced pages. I have agreed with upwards of 90% of his suggestions, which might be a record in my experience. He is one of the very best.
I could not be happier with Dorothy's excellent editing skills. Her written and oral feedback to me was right on target, demonstrating not only a fine grasp of the rules of language, but also an intuitive sense of what I was attempting to communicate. I would give her a well-deserved 5-star rating!
Jason has been very helpful, and as a published author in the non fiction realm and an excellent writer himself, he could immediately see what needed to be worked on in my MS. He put considerable time into an excellent critique that has been more than I expected.

Manuscript If you have an idea for a story and you're not sure how to go about telling it or if you've written something and want feedback or hints on how to make it better, I'd love to help. I do both writing original content and I provide editing/proofreading services. I also provide guidance for doing research if a client doesn't have ready access to the web or if they need ideas on how they can conduct a search. If you have a manuscript that needs rewriting or structuring for possible publication I can consult with you on that. Though I have a separate rate for that service, my rate is based on number of pages and what needs to be done with your manuscript. Entire formating of a manuscript into one suitable for e-books, takes a little more time regardless of number of pages and this rate will be on an evaluation basis and requires a consultation. Desktop Publishing and Graphics With my added interest in desktop publishing and graphic arts, I'm working to hone my skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and I'm getting my feet wet with Adobe InDesign as well. I also do photo editing, retouching and manipulation. I'm in the process of finishing up my portfolio which never seems to get done. It's a work in progress. I design my own cover designs for ebooks. Video Editing As a hobby, I also do digital video editing and my work has been enjoyed on YouTube and Vimeo as well as my special interest blogs. The rate I charge for this service is flexible and will depend on the length of the finished project you need. I use a few different programs for this but mostly I'm an all Mac-OS production shop (sorry, no Windows-based projects). Also I only work on digital files from your raw footage. At the present time, I can not work on any videocassette tapes and I'm not set up with an industrial style studio. It's just me and my desktop Mac! I know it sounds like I do a lot, but it reflects my interests I've developed over the years. I would love to do what ever it takes to make sure your project comes out awesome! My pricing is fair and I can tailor it to match the scope of your project and your budget. Thanks a lot and I hope that you will give me an opportunity to work with you.
