Introduction: I love working with beginners of all ages and have a warm, encouraging, comfortable, and enthusiastic teaching style. I make a point to continue studying different methods, in the hopes that I can effectively teach people with different learning styles. I have 18 years of formal study, graduated Berklee College of Music in 2016 and have been teaching lessons and workshops full time ever since. I also work as a freelance composer and audio engineer, and am well-versed in recording techniques and music theory.

Will is a fantastic vocal teacher! I’ve gone from terrified of singing to confidently belting out songs at work karaoke events. And lessons are always a fun time, singing my favorite songs, with Will finding unique and interesting ways for me to learn new techniques.

I would select all five nouns. Will is a fantastic teacher, and it is obvious that he enjoys what he's doing. I take voice lessons with him twice a week, and not only is he patient with my anxiety quirks, he is down to practice any (level-appropriate) song. Every time I've picked one, he gets psyched up about it; it's motivating when your teacher enjoys the obscure song in a foreign language that you've picked. He is great at offering songs that I like, even if they're brand new to me, and every lesson there's a focus plan in mind for tone, support, rhythm, pitch, and focused repetition. We also do song analysis occasionally -- can I say music theory? -- it's a blast because he's listening to a random song on the spot and eager to teach whatever contextually clever/weird/talented thing that the songwriter did. Finally, with my being a full-time working adult, he understands that real life can interfere with study, so if I've made no progress or regressed (haha) he's casual about it. 13/10, would recommend to anyone to try at least a few lessons to see if you're a good combo. I was super lucky that the very first teacher I found on reddit (of all places haha) was a brilliant match for me and my parasite/sidekick, anxiety. No matter how grumpy I am before a lesson, I always end the lesson in a good mood. I don't think there's anything else to ask for in a teacher.

Will is the man! I’ve made great progress and my band members can tell the difference. I have a lot more fun now and my confidence has massively increased. We run through vocal exercises and songs every week and Will does a great job at explaining the mechanics of singing. Highly recommend!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a discount on bundle purchases (paying for blocks of lessons instead of per lesson) I also offer a discount if you refer a student that takes more than 3 lessons with me! I also offer discount prices for college students.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to ask about their goals, musical preferences, and experience! I make a very concerted effort to customize my method for each student. of course I have certain things that I find important for everyone as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music theory and performance in college prep programs during high school. I was a performing vocalist in bands, musicals, and jazz programs at that time also. I went on to study at Berklee College of Music where I graduated in 2016 I have been teaching full-time ever since, at both educational studios and privately.
