About
I am a professional violinist with 10 years of experience teaching musicians of all ages and abilities and over 10 years of performance experience. Currently I perform with many ensembles in and around the Philadelphia area, including Opera Philadelphia, Philadelphia Ballet, Philly POPS, and many others. I am passionate about sharing my love for music with others and helping students reach their musical goals. I hold a bachelors degree in violin performance from Vanderbilt University, where I earned my certification to teach the Suzuki violin method. However, I customize my teaching approach to the needs and goals of each individual student.

I loved working with Mary! She is and experienced and talented violinist-turned-lawyer. I was an adult learner trying a new instrument for the first time. She was a new teacher fresh out of school playing in various orchestras. We went on to work together for 3+ years and she even came to my wedding! Mary was always patient and thoughtful in her teaching. She tailored lessons to my interests, always making me feel comfortable. Mary knew I preferred fiddle music to traditional violin and always brought new and challenging Irish pieces for me to learn. She was adaptable, knowing I couldn’t read music well but instead played by sound. She adjusted her teaching style to what worked for me, often playing for me so I could play be ear. We had a lot of fun during our lessons, and I cannot recommend Mary enough. I know she is equally patient and kind with young children. My lessons often followed young school age pupils, and they always left with a smile and a sticker!
