Introduction: Aside from providing traditional repairs and renovations in residential and rental properties and commercial spaces, as a practicing artist and art fabricator I am also very much interested in providing unique artisinal solutions and utilizing historic processes to preserve and modernize homes. Working also in movie set construction and set painting industry, I am insistent upon maintaining the highest aesthetic standards even on the smallest of jobs.
While completing necessary repairs at an affordable cost to clients, in a timely manner is my primary vocation and priority, I most enjoy participating in the design and building process. Having worked in the construction and fabrication industry professionally for over 15 years I enjoy being able to recommend highly qualified, honest and affordable tradesman other than myself when the opportunity arises. As an artist and teacher I understand my work as both a creative process and "thanking."

Zak was contracted to help me pick up a couple of appliances, to remove existing old appliances and replace with new ones. This included hooking up a gas stove. Zak was prompt for the appointment and completed the work efficiently. When he left I had a working stove and dishwasher. Thanks so muck Zak and Thumbtack.

Zak hung a curtain rod and curtain, and some multimedia artwork. The work was done well and efficiently. He was flexible about time (I had to change it), on time, professional, and nice. We will be hiring him again!

Zak came in to repaint our upstairs and downstairs hallways, which had paint over wallpaper. We didn't like the color or the really obvious seams.
He performed some real "movie magic" and the result is amazing. They patched over the seams, sponged and sanded evenly, and added some spray texture in places to even it all out.
The result is far better than we imagined.
While it took a bit longer than he originally planned (3 days instead of 2), we're extremely pleased with the quality and the price.
Definitely recommended - we'll call on him again.
