Carol was outstanding in watching our 2 cats. She spent an hour a day with them for 7 days feeding, water, cleaning their boxes and playing with them. She even cleaned up some barf messes too. In addition to this she also watered our outdoor plants. She's super nice and friendly and very honest. We recommend her for any of your pet's needs. We're so glad to have found her. Thanks Carol!

My long-haired cat, Luna, had awful mats on her back and nether regions. She is also a difficult cat to groom ourselves, especially when it comes to trimming claws, so we went to this expert. The groomer brushed her out, trimmed the claws, and shaved her behind to prevent future mats and trappings. They knew when Luna was stressed out, so they didn't go beyond what was necessary for her happiness. Ever since, Luna has been in a much better mood and looks and feels fabulous. The staff was awesome and the price was perfect. Definitely will be bringing her back soon.

Great love and care for our adopted family member. I have a lab and she can't wait to see them everytime. I hate it when Sugar's paws walk on my hardwood floors but Brooke patiently explained to me why I can't cut her nails back more. The needs of their furry friends are always a top priority.

Jess took great care with my two dogs and cat while we were on vacation. I knew from the moment I met her that the animals would quickly adapt to her caring for them. They instantly fell in love with her wonderful personality and passion for animals. Dependable, caring, and affordable. Highly recommend.

I pet sit animals, from dogs and cats to hamsters and rats. I am currently a student at the Veterinary Technician Institute.

I can do a wide range of things, from pet care to housecleaning! I am very flexible, so I can work around your time and schedule! Working with people is my passion! I look forward to meeting you!

I love animals. I can help you do everything, from walking to bathing and providing general care for your beloved family members (your pets). Since we all love our animals like they are family, then you expect to have them cared for like they are people. That's where I come in. Since we have busy lives, sometimes we can't give our furry friends the amount of care or attention that we would like. I can help fill in the holes to make their lives a little better!

I offer pet sitting in your home or mine. I also do one-on-one training, in-house medical services (giving injections, medicines, and fluids), and dog walking.

We take great pride in our work and provide the most compassionate care for both dogs and cats.

I love all animals, big or small. I would take them to the doggie park, bath and pamper them, let them play with toys and just have a great time.

We are a full-service dog grooming salon. We have very reasonable prices and the best service and care anywhere. We enjoy doing hand scissor trims, short trims or taking the hairy shedding dog and making them beautiful with less shedding hair, and shiny coat. We also offer dog day care services. My staff and I are trained to offer pet grooming for all pets, i..e., dogs, cats, birds, and other exotics.

The attention and love I give to the pets I take care of is just like how my own pets are treated as a family member!

I will walk your "furry child" when you can't be there to give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. I love dogs and will treat your baby like my own.

I will beat all competitors prices and I am centrally located

I will be caring for animals while their owners are unavailable. I have been around pets, specifically dogs, my whole life. I understand that your pet is not just an animal, but it is also a member of the family and requires special care and attention.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is included in a dog grooming?

Dog grooming is so much more than giving your dog a bath. Dog grooming is a broad term that covers all aspects of canine cleanliness and hygiene. The services included in dog grooming will vary based on your needs and what you choose to pay. Unless they are rolling in cowpies or playing in mud puddles, most dogs are okay getting a shampoo bath only as needed. You’ll know when they need it if they smell bad or are bringing dirt into the house. Some dogs, like shepherds and shih tzus, have thick coats that can get matted and tangled without regular care. Pro dog groomers can deftly blow dry a dog’s hair after a bath so that it is shiny and smooth. Dog grooming can include brushing that detangles dog hair and also thins the undercoat to minimize shedding.

Dog grooming also includes hygiene services such as toothbrushing and ear cleaning. Clean teeth are important to the health of your dog, and the pros have the patience and proper technique to get it done. Regular dog grooming can stave off tear stains, those reddish stains below your dog’s eyes. Anal gland expression is something not many people want to do on their own, even if they love their dog. A dog groomer can safely and efficiently release any blocked anal gland fluid. Other dog grooming services include nail trimming and clipping. Nationally, dog grooming prices range from $60 to $80. Most dog groomers offer discounts to customers who purchase monthly packages or bundle multiple grooming services at one time.

Do cats have to get groomed?

It’s not crazy to have your cat groomed. Grooming will keep your cat’s fur soft and silky as well as give you early warning about any health concerns. Regular grooming can also help reduce the volume of hair your cat may be shedding and keep your longhair kitty cool if you live in a warm climate. Professionals competently groom your cat and are trained to manage them if they resist being groomed, while you may get scratched doing the same task. The national average price for cat grooming is $50-$70. Pet grooming prices may vary based on the task. For example, a bath and brush for shorthair cats may be $15, $20 for medium-hair cats, and $25 for a longhair. Cat groomers can also keep your cat’s ears cleaned, trim their nails, and provide haircuts if needed. Average prices for haircuts can vary from $30 to $95 or more, depending on whether the cat is shy or aggressive and whether their coat is in good condition, matted, or otherwise difficult to groom.

What is a dog groomer?

A dog groomer is a service professional who provides dog grooming and basic hygiene care for your dog. Dog groomers are typically animal lovers who are competent and comfortable working with a wide range of dog breeds and temperaments. Dog groomers are knowledgeable about the care needs for different kinds of dog coats. A poodle will have different haircut needs than a shih tzu, for example, so it pays to have a trained pro provide the proper cut. Good dog groomers know how to safely clean your dog’s teeth, bathe your dog, and cut their nails without going too short. They understand how to trim the hair from around your dog’s face, express anal glands, and clean your dog’s ears. Many people who choose dog grooming as a profession also pursue other dog services such as attending veterinary school, running a doggy day care center, working as a professional dog walker, and more.

What is a dog groomer?

Keep your family dogs happy, healthy and clean with regular dog grooming. A dog groomer is a business owner or employee of a dog grooming business who specializes in dog hygiene and grooming. To find a reputable dog groomer, research reviews, ask for references and confirm that the groomer has good standing in the dog grooming community.

A dog groomer should be comfortable and competent working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Typically a groomer will have trained with other groomers and taken educational courses to keep abreast of the latest safety information and techniques. There are brick-and-mortar dog grooming businesses, as well as mobile dog groomers who bring all their equipment and provide their services at your home or location. In some cases, brick-and-mortar businesses will also pick up and return your dog for an additional fee.

How much should cat grooming cost?

Keeping your cat groomed is an important part of maintaining their good health. The national average cost for cat grooming ranges between $50 and $70, with prices varying based on where you live and the services you request. Your cat’s temperament can also affect grooming prices. Scratching and hissing during a groomer visit can raise rates an average of $5-$10, or more, as hazard pay. Larger cats and long-haired cats that take longer to groom will also usually cost more. Here are some examples of cat grooming average costs:

  • Shave down or lion cut: $35-$60. These cuts preserve the hair around the face and tip of the tail but shave down the entire body. The lion cut is often recommended for extremely matted hair is exceedingly matted, for extreme heat, or for cats who are suffering from hairballs.
  • Ear cleaning and nail trim: $30.
  • Nail trim: $10-$15.
  • Bath and nail trim: $45.
  • Bath and sanitary trim: $55. A sanitary trim clips the hair on a cat’s behind to prevent fecal matting in longhair cats or cats that have mobility issues.
  • Bath, blow-dry, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning: $40.
  • Full haircut, bath, and nail trim: $45-$95, depending on matting.
