Adam was so communicative through the entire planning process and was so friendly and easy to work with. The guests at our wedding had an excellent time in the photo booth, the pictures were seriously outstanding and we got the digital photos only aday or two later. We plan to hire him for every party we have! Thanks, Adam!

What a wonderful experience it was having Tom as my photo booth man! My guests had an absolute blast using all of his props and getting to receive an individual print out of their photos. He customized each print out with a special background and our names and wedding daye. And for just a bit extra I paid for the photo book and I am SO GLAD that I did! Tom prints an extra copy and glues it into a keepsake book and guests write a message next to their print. It's like another guest book but better because you get to see your guests crazy photo booth pictures. Tom was so great to work with, my husband and I hadn't gotten a chance to use the booth and our reception was winding down and he was packing up and had half of the booth put away I ran over and asked if we could get in real quick and he reset up and not only let my hubby and I go through but even more of our guests. I would HIGHLY recommend Tom and That Crazy Photo Booth to family and friends and I would definitely use him again for a future function!

I loved everything about my experiences with One Left Standing Entertainment. Wes was very easy to contact, professional, helpful, and overall an excellent DJ. My wedding took place Saturday September 2, 2017. Wes worked with my now husband Joe regarding the music, as Joe is very interested in music and wanted to be involved in some of the process. Wes took his requests and ultimately delivered an experience my guests are still commenting on. Throughout my wedding of 86 people at least 10 different guests inquired as to where I found One Left Standing Entertainment. He was spot on with song selection and was very personable with all announcements. We recommend One Left Standing wholeheartedly.

She made a stressful wedding time, both easy and affordable. So many people commented that her fun and interactive photo booth was one of the wedding highlights. We loved receiving these photos after the wedding and having a good laugh at our family member's ridiculous prop/expression combos. I cannot say enough good things about Kelly!

Mark is a fabulous entertainer and excellent magician. His show was fun, energetic and full of surprises. He performed at a picnic for mostly older, adult volunteers. I've had many people say that was one of the best picnics yet. His magic is a mix of "oh yeah, we know that" but with surprising, unexpected twists. He was also very personable before and after the show. Great to work with!

It was an amazing experience working with Starz Photo Booth for my wedding. The business is local, and the owner was very easy to talk to. He was also very accommodating, as I had requested a few particular photo designs to be used. The booth was beautiful, the props were fun and I'm so glad I got the scrapbook. The scrapbook was a great way for all our guests to attach their photo strips to help us remember a great day. Thank you Starz for catering to my wedding so thoughtfully, I highly recommend booking with Starz!

I had the opportunity to meet Thom and his assistant. The were hired to make balloon centerpieces and entertainment. The event was at the Sherwood Events Center for a Safari Baby shower. Thom was on time there were issues with the set up time on the venues end. So we all were behind schedule for set up. The safari balloon center pieces complimented the theme. Overall we were pleased with the Outcome.

Ray Lucas' magic show at my son's 8th birthday party was really spectacular. He entertained and amazed the kids as well as the adults. There were 11 children at the party, and he made sure every child in attendance was included in the performance at some point, which, of course, is thrilling for an 8-year-old! Following the magic show he created balloon animals for each child, and he even left us with enough balloon swords so that each child could participate in an epic battle after he left. All the guests at my son's party had a great time. Thank you, Ray, you are an amazing magician!

I received so much feedback from my wedding guests that our wedding was super fun. The highlight of the evening for everyone was the photo booth. It was important to me to select a vendor that was easy to work with, gave digital rights and printed copies, and was affordable. Steel City Selfies delivered on everything. They were terrific to work with. They even came to the venue in advance to scope out a good place for the booth. Their equipment was high-tech and very easy to use. I recommend them highly!

My experience working with Clifford Lowe was during a music concert he was giving. It was very favorable. Clifford Lowe was very organized and efficient in the way he was preparing for the performance. I could see that Clifford Lowe was gifted and had years of performance experience. I was impressed with the variety of music Clifford Lowe played and sang, the effortless way he prepared everything necessary for a smooth and successful performance. Clifford Lowe made sure that every detail was taken care of so that his audience had a memorable, exciting evening. I would recommend Clifford Lowe to any organization that Is looking for a musician who is reliable, and has a reputation for bringing quality, efficiency and excellence to his performances.

We definitely made the right choice when we hired Mike for our wedding. I knew that the music was one thing that I wouldn't have to worry about. He learned a special song for me to walk down the isle to and it couldn't have been more special. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had an amazing time.

Ms. Ranieri played last September. I found her online and immediately called to see if she was available. She responded to my calls punctually, to discuss pricing, music, and availability. She also took the time out of her schedule to meet with an additional musician I had selected to rehearse my selections. The selections that she played was everything I had asked for and more. Our wedding was very modern, and so was the music. The minute I heard the harp/violin combination playing, while out taking pictures, I actually got teary eyed. Bridget is dependable, reliable, kind, and extremely talented. She is also very accommodating, especially traveling with such a large instrament . I would certainly recommend this gifted musician for any event as she is as beautiful of a person as the music that she plays.

The attendants were interactive with our wedding guests, encouraging them to use the provided props and take photos. They were very helpful and showed some of the guests who had never been in a photo booth how everything worked. They were super friendly as well. :) The photo booth was a huge hit with us and our guests! We were hesitant to book the booth at first due to budget constraints, but we are very happy that we did. It was a huge hit and the photos in our guest book will be treasured for years to come. It was highly entertaining and left our wedding guests with party favors they'll keep forever. We will always treasure our guest book provided by ShutterBooth. :) Thank you!!!!!!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

  • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
  • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
  • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

  • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
  • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
  • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
  • Add-on features:
    • Photo guest album services: $75.
    • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
    • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
    • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.
