Ben and his crew installed a new roof on my home. Excellent results and no suprises with add on costs. Ben was completely transparent with estimate and charges that may be incurred; such as my skylights and needed plywood replacement. He is now officially my go to contractor.
Michael is a outstanding guy. He does quality work on timely manner. I would recommend anyone who would need work done. He installed hydro sump pump, ceiling fan, tv mounting and etc. We are impressed by his work and I would hire him again.
TAF Construction finished our patio roof and ceiling on time and budget. The weather turned quite cold for awhile but it did not deter the work from continuing. Excellent cleanup as well. We have an additional project and will use them again.
Dan made some repairs to our living room ceiling, replacing some spots in the sheet rock that were damaged as well as painting the whole ceiling. He did an excellent job, He's friendly, professional, reasonable with his prices. He took 2 days to do the job and do it right. He made sure when he was done each day that he didn't leave any mess behind for us to deal with.We will absolutely use his company for any future repair issues.
We needed some trim work done to cover a settlement crack along a tray ceiling that I had not been able to repair. I posted the request on Thumbtack and got a few replies with hourly rates. I contacted a couple of the contractors because I wanted to get more than an hourly cost to do the work. I described the scope of the work to each contractor and said that I wanted to get a more concrete estimate. Joe Valentino of Valentino Construction and Design estimated the job would take about 3 hours to do. I agreed on the hourly rate, and I told him I would get the material and prime and paint the wood to be ready for him. We agreed on a date. Due to circumstances beyond our control that both Joe and I had, the work got delayed by about a month. Finally, a date was set. Joe said he would get the wood and prime it. I agreed. Joe and his helper showed up at the appointed time and got to work. They were meticulous in their work. Furniture was covered or moved and tarps were laid over the carpeting. Four hours later the work was done. Beautifully, I may add. The trim work was done and Joe had even given it a couple of coats of paint to finish it. Both my wife and I loved it. They cleaned up and vacuumed the carpets. Furniture was put back in place. I asked Joe what the cost would be. He told me that we had agreed to the three hours of labor and the cost of materials so that would be it. Fantastic I thought; a man of his word. I would highly recommend Valentino Construction and Design to anyone needing carpentry work. They are friendly, do great work and are reasonable with their pricing. I give them 5 stars!
Extremely satisfied with the installation of a ceiling fan. Very professional. The installation was done in very timely and efficient manner. The price was very reasonable. I plan to use Moss construction for any future projects I may have and would highly recommend them to anyone!
Rich Higgins of The House Mechanix did two projects for us. The first was to install a sliding shower door that we purchased. He did a very professional job. We hired him again for a second project that included a long list of interior repairs. They included patching ceiling and wall drywall, priming and painting, and a large number of miscellaneous handyman items. We are very satisfied with his pricing and quality of work. We also found him very ethical and easy to deal with. Steve McEvoy West Chester, PA
Bryan did an awesome job at my house. He is a true professional. I had a roof leak and it made a big hole fall through ceiling in my hallway. He repaired the roof and the inside ceiling. You can't even tell it had ever happened. I would definitely recommend him for any kind of work. He does it all.
We are very pleased with the work done by them on our patio roof. Even with some additional work we requested that they do, changing out a window to a sliding glass door , it was done professionally and on time. Tom and his crew were very respectful and hard working and cleaned up every day. We will request this company to do some other work for us in the future. I would recommend them to others needing work done on their home.
We highly recommend Eric Plomchok and Second Nature Home Improvements. We engaged Eric to take down a wall between our kitchen and dining room, remove cabinetry and a desk and to install 11 sets of cabinets, cabinetry and ceiling lighting, shelving and wallpaper. The result is amazing. The finished ceiling blends so well that it is impossible to see where a wall might have been. Eric’s care and attention to detail in all of the work he completed is extraordinary. No seams are visible in the wallpaper, the numerous relocated electrical switches and outlets are in perfect places and no nail marks are visible in the cabinetry. The last bit of work left of the original job is matching the wooden floor boards where the wall once stood and we trust that, given his track record so far, this will be completed soon and will look terrific. Eric is professional, friendly and always cleaned up at the end of the day. He was also very patient when changes were made to original plans. We came to think of him as family and to trust him in the house when no one was home. We were so impressed with his work and so reluctant to see him go that we kept finding other things since he was so proficient in so many areas! In addition to the original work he was engaged to do, we also engaged him to help install new electronic temperature controls and a keypad system for our garage doors. Unfortunately, now that Eric has completed the extension of the kitchen in such exemplary fashion, the rest of the kitchen looks old and tired and needs updating! As a result, we have asked Eric to provide estimates for the kitchen update as well as a remodel for our master bathroom. Again, we highly recommend Eric and Second Nature Home Improvements! I used David and his crew for sheetrock and painting of walls and ceilings for repairs after water damage and duct removal. Their work was very reasonably priced for the value in Center City Philadelphia. They were prompt, courteous, reliable and finished sooner than estimated. The taping and patching on some of the ceiling holes (duct removal) was a little rough, but doing holes in a ceiling is hard, admittedly. They did a great job on sheet rocking the full wall area. I would definitely recommend them.
I needed to find a contractor to repair my sagging/falling down ceiling in my living room. I chose Destefano Builders after researching Thumbtack reviews and talking to two other contractors. Dan came into my home and realized we needed to put up a temporary wall (which turned out to be a blessing) to hold the ceiling up until he could coordinate his workers to take the wall down and put the new one back up within one day due to the fact I was living there. It all happened quickly and seamlessly. He even helped me pick out new paint colors! I have a list of other projects I would like done in my home and I will be relying on Dan and his team for those. I trusted them in my home while I was working. Dan also paid attention and was mindful of my dog which meant a lot to me :) I'm so relieved to find a contractor I trust and one that does fantastic work! THANKS DAN!!
We are remodeling our family room and Bob responded quickly to our Thumbtack request for tile/decorative stone. As it turns out, Bob is a fully licensed general contractor. He did a great job on the fireplace stone. We further contracted to install recessed ceiling lights and to build a new mantle over the fireplace which required some creativity on his part. Excellent work on construction, drywall, electrical, mantle and of course the stone tile. Highly recommended.
Jeff has come out to put in a new sink, faucet, garbage disposal and water lines under sink. He also cut into my ceiling a new junction box for a new light fixture in my dining room. He not only performed the work, but also kept the job-site clean and spackled and painted the wall from the electrical work he did. I would not have anyone else in my home to do improvements and we are already working towards a new deck in the rear of my new home. Great guy, great service...THE BEST!!
We have used Ace Remodeling LLC for all of our home improvement needs for the past 6 years and would not consider using anyone else! Steve is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of construction and very easy to talk to/work with. His team is also respectful of our home while they are working on projects which have ranged from kitchen and bathroom updates, wall/ceiling repair/framing/painting, porch re-build and other general repairs. We have been so pleased with their work that we have referred numerous friends and family members to them who have also hired them and had the same opinion of their work! We absolutely recommend Ace Remodeling LLC and their high quality workmanship. Hiring them will give you peace of mind knowing it will be done correctly!
I have known Charlie charleswell for may years. Being a single mother and home owner I have called charleswell for many emergencies. One comes to mind when my kids stopped up the toilet and the water was running and no one tried to unclog it or cut the water off until the ceiling below collapsed and I had to rush home from work Charlie came over immediately and assess the damage he gave me a fair price he is trustworthy he's good at what he does I and I recommend that you keep his number on speed dial like I do. A difficult install of a plastic drop ceiling in the basement. The real bonus was he solved an electrical problem, and the results are terrific. Drywalling is my job, Jimmy did the ceiling, the electric, and installed the lighting.
Andrea installed 2 ceiling fans and a stove exhaust fan in about 3 1/2 hours. She was on time, worked solid, strong, very neat, even taking old fans and packing materials out. She's smart and has creative problem solving with problem fan installation. She charged me a very reasonable hourly rate. I look forward to hiring her again for other projects. I highly recommend Andrea.
Mr. Venable is currently working on power and lighting design, service upgrade and rewire of my entire home due to a fire. I've entrusted this whole house project to him because of the outstanding quality of his work. He has been my electrician since October 2004; projects both large and small, include, but are not limited to: - ran power to my backyard carriage house - wired the pergola and backyard for lighting, power and cable outlets. - installed wet weather ceiling fans and lights in the pergola - added circuits, lights and outlets as needed in the main house. I'm a very exacting, hands/eyes on client, in the process of a whole house restoration; some of the tradesmen find me "difficult" because I'm hands on -- I know what I want. Additionally, I expect to be honestly communicated with -- kept informed of project status, delays, problems encountered, etc. The one tradesman that shines is Mr. Venable; in addition to his workmanship, professionalism, responsiveness, etc; the characteristics that I most value are his HONESTY and INTEGRITY. It is truly my pleasure to recommend him and his company.
We realized that Americoat Painting & Construction Services would be a different home repair company when the two workers from the company first entered our house they took off their shoes, put on booties and placed tarpaulin from the front door up the steps to the work site on the second floor. This was the beginning of what would be a professional installation of a new shower stall and repair/painting of bathroom walls and ceiling. When they removed the old stall they found inferior flooring and a bird nest resulting from a previously unknown opening to the outside of the house. They also noted that the shower light was a shock possibility. They took these issues in stride and altered the project to account for these problems. They were friendly and neat and offered advice on the removal of wall tile prior to painting the walls and ceiling. They even recommended a paint color that matched bathroom fixtures and cabinets. As for price, Americoat installed the new shower and painted the bathroom for about half the price another construction company bid for the shower alone. When the job was over, we were so happy with their work that we had them seal and straighten a cellar wall that was bowed due to outside water leakage. And, as a final example of excellence, at the end of each day of the job they left our house as clean as it was when they entered.
I had them come install some ceiling fans in my house. He was fast, efficient, and did not leave a mess. Fans were secure and worked properly, offered to comeback for if there were any problems. I would definitely hire them again.
