FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system includes two options: basic and professional. Basic $500: includes a video of the ceremony from a fixed vantage point, with optional music overlay, a digital copy on a USB drive as well as one complimentary DVD. Additional DVDs are $5 per DVD, any wedding that is more than 15 miles outside of central Austin incurs a $0.50/mile charge. Professional $1,200: includes footage of pre-ceremony, ceremony and reception from multiple vantage points, b-roll, and stylistic editing with optional music overlay. Final product includes video proportionate to the amount of footage captured, a digital copy on a USB drive as well as one complimentary DVD.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings and receptions are without a doubt the most in-demand type of job for freelance videography. Next in line would be conferences/keynote speeches, and graduations. However, the most fun jobs for a videographer are those that are less common, and hiring a professional to film an event that may not often be filmed is a great way to make that event both successful and memorable.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Looking at sample work is the greatest way to really understand just how a professional in film and video approaches a job. Every videographer has a style and by looking at former work, you can decide whether that style meets your needs and desires, and whether their artistic direction aligns closely enough with your own vision to be truly satisfied.
