I was one of Mikes first clients when he struck out on his own. I was impressed by this young mans demeanor and knowledge in all questions I asked.The project was all encompassing. The tear down of the entire kitchen from ceiling to floor. At that point the build process began. New tile floor, walls repaired, new cabinets installed which Mike ordered . He oversaw the installation of the granite countertops , put up the backsplash, took care of the plumbing and electric then painted all the walls and ceiling. Radiators were also painted. A stellar job in the end. My wife and I could not be happier with the finished product. I recommend Mike and his company very highly and will have them back for any future needs.

Unfortunately, my husband and I had a very poor experience with Modern Concepts. We hired Mike for a kitchen reface and full bathroom remodel. We were very impressed by him the first time we met him, and really trusted that he would do good work, based on everything he promised early on. He quoted us $85k for both projects, which was at the top of our budget for the work, but he made us feel confident that it would be well worth the investment. We paid him 50% of the cost upon signing of the contract. Two months following, he and his team began work on the kitchen. When they began the work, he had a full team of about 5 or 6 people. About 2 weeks in, he asked my husband and I if we would pay him earlier than what we had in the contract "to make sure he could pay all of his guys". We were reluctant, but because getting the work done, and keeping everyone happy seemed like a good idea, we agreed. After a couple more weeks went by, we started asking about timeline, and he kept assuring us that things were on track. As time went on, and more requests for money, it became clear that this company was very green, and lacked experience with time and money management. They over promise, and under deliver in quality (see attached pictures).I feel really bad for his employees too, because he always throws them under the bus, blaming them for any mistakes. As the company owner, and the one who trains them, Mike should take responsibility for the quality of work that his company produces.Mike quit before finishing the bathroom, but not before collecting almost all of the money for it. I've included photos of how they left it, having taken 90% of our money.I can't, in good faith, recommend Modern Concepts, and think that others should be very weary before signing a contract with this company. They have a lot to learn about running an honest business, doing good quality work in a timely manner, money management, and valuing their customers.Just a note: Mike deleted my original honest comment from his website, and blocked my husband and me from his Facebook page, so that we couldn't review him. Just a warning to not trust the reviews on either of those pages, since they are heavily monitored.

Thank you so much for sharing Mikaela and we appreciate your feedback. I am so sorry you had a rough experience and I am deeply apologetic we were not able to meet your standards. The team tried doing their best work and some helpers made some mistakes along the way and I am deeply sorry for that. I am a person of integrity a would always fix any mistake I cause. With that said, after the team was being yelled at and sworn at by you their morale fell very low. Unfortunately you had breached the contract which forced me to leave your project, employees didnt want to work there - as well as expecting things for free never spoken or agreed on and then being aggressive about that.. The day of me letting you guys know I wouldnt be continuing is the day you both begged me to stay and just assured me that it was your own things you were going through. Alex told me he would be sending Mikaela to Florida because of how aggressive she was being with the employees and myself. I have provided a recording for context of Mikalela and Alex requesting me to continue work because we do great work and she admits she is going through some things that have effected her emotional state. I want to conclude this by saying, I tried my very best to accomodate to every one of Mikaelas requests but sometimes we fall short. I would like to see a company that hasnt made mistakes. The way you conducted yourself through out both projects was something I hope to never meet again. Just as you and your husband AND your band write reviews of my company, I hope you know who you may also be affecting.
