I've played at many of John Hanson's open mikes, and played with him many, many times. When I got back into playing music after many years off, John was one of the people who encouraged me to continue. Always giving me tips, good advice, and being supportive. I don’t know if I’d still be playing out in public if not for John. I believe I’m much better now than I was then, and I can directly credit John as one of the reasons why. Playing out live has never been more fun for me these days, and I always look forward to playing out at one of John’s gigs. If you come out to one of his open mics for instance, and hear the quality talent that always shows up to his gigs, you might ask yourself why he has such a following. I know why. Because more than anything he CARES about the music. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played out before, or you’re a regular on the circuit, he’ll do his best to make you sound the best he can, whatever it takes. I give him a lot of credit, because he’s always out there getting it done. He’s not in the business half-way, he’s full force into music, and making that music the best he can make it. You can see and hear this every time he plays. As to his studio recording prowess, I have not yet had the pleasure of using him as a producer, but I can point to some of the work he’s done that I think is exceptional, and truly professional. A mutual friend, Mike Curley, recently had his first EP recorded at John’s studio and I can’t stop listening to it. I think it has radio quality written all over it. You can hear my favorite track here – The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Sincerely, Dan Ducey. –

David has been teaching me guitar for a little over a month now. I have already seen great advances in my technique, rhythm, and understanding of music. I have been playing guitar for 9 years off and on, and I have never had professional lessons. I can say that after a month with David, I am playing better than I ever have and believe that my guitar playing skills will continue to progress rapidly with David's help. His teaching technique is very casual and fun, almost conversational, and his insights are spot on. He is exactly what I hoped for in an instructor when I started looking at guitar lessons and I would highly recommend him for anyone who loves guitar, regardless of their skill level. He is a 'must hire' professional!

Wanted to take piano lessons, so I called the owner, Kris, and he made me feel very confident and comfortable in going with his studio. Charlie, my piano teacher, is very good. He's attentive, patient, and most importantly challenges me. Great experience so far. Highly recommended.

What a great treasure the Drummers' Studio is for musicians in the area! Kris is extremely helpful and responsive. My new piano teacher is super supportive of an adult interested in taking up lessons after 30 years away from it. Such an all-around positive experience!

So far I've only taken one lesson with Jen for violin; however, it was very encouraging and I have scheduled future lessons already. She was flexible with me on a time to meet and was quite enthusiastic when I arrived. It took some time to tune my instrument since it's been so long since I last played but she was patient as ever and got it perfect without even needing my digital tuner. The lesson itself went smoothly - she was conscientious of the fact that I have some music background but also no foundation for violin. We did cover some basic things, such as quarter notes and timings, to determine how much music theory I have but it never felt silly. Overall I would recommend trying for sure. :)

Mikey was fantastic working with my son and myself recording his original songs. My son first recording was exceptional thanks to Mikey. He is professional and very easy to work with.and a super nice guy. We parted with an excellent demo professionally mastered. The entire experience awesome. The studio itself was great also. Great atmosphere to work in. Mikey was a great help to all involved in the demo. And his rates were excellent. We are going back a 2nd time to record more songs. I couldn't have been happier...

Joe is the best music producer/studio operator/engineer I've had the pleasure to work with. His instincts are right on and his ability to bring out the best in the artist he works with is impressive. Easy to work with and Berklee educated, Joe Clar is highly recommended by me, Alex Raven.

Studio B is flexible with my schedule, constantly takes my input into consideration as the engineer looks for new ways to bring us both to the next level. As a Steel Pan player, he's captured one of the best sounds I've heard on an instrument that is notably hard to mic. I've seen him sacrifice his time to dig into my recordings time and time again. It's been a great experience to grow together as a team between the band and the studio!

I have been working with photography and lighting for over 20 years and developed an eye for it. In addition, I can be very creative with lighting and that creates a "mood" in the photo. Anyone can take a picture and get lucky with a shot, with me, I understand the science behind it and can re-create anything you'd see in a magazine. I am very easy going, extremely patient. I have immense consideration and respect with anyone that works with me at all times. I know when and how much light to put in the scene so that the photo looks like what "your eyes" have seen it when you were there. The ambience is never lost when I'm doing your special event.

My passion of music education is not only about the physical aspects of learning an instrument. My passion for music stems from my "appreciation" of music. As a kid, I was listening to music all day and every day. I also accepted the fact that mastering your craft is an unachievable goal. What I mean is that you musician is ever satisfied with where their abilities lie on the ladder. I expect my students to always look up when practicing and then in moments of frustration or doubt, look back and realize how far they have already come!
