Working with Sullivan Painting couldn't have been easier. Brian and his team were very professional, always on time and stayed later than most would, and never had to second guess his knowledge. Would definitely recommend.

Sullivan Painting and Decorating (formally known as Precision Pro Painting) worked on our house (new construction) for 5 (FIVE) months. They did both the interior and exterior of the home. Brian is an excellent salesman and will promise you the world; however, he does NOT deliver. There is an EXTREME lack of attention to detail (a skill a painter should absolutely have), no respect for homeowner’s property, and they never finished the job! -We paid extra to have Ram Board floor protection put down on our brand new hardwoods and bathroom tile to protect them. Both ended up with paint on them which I repeatedly had to ask to have removed. The bathroom tile in our master bathroom is still stained! -Scratch marks on new metal roof due to ladders -Wood stain drips all over white windowsills, and concrete outside of house -Paint can ring stains all over garage floors (we’ve never even pulled a car in here so they should be spotless) -They helped themselves to our under sink kitchen pull out trash bins for trash and paint, ruining them. -When they stripped and cleaned the wood outside prior to staining on the exterior they did not take out the screens to our windows so all the little pieces of wood and paint got stuck in our screens and some actually blew through the exterior doors into the kitchen. -Paint marks left all over house that were clearly visible but that I had to ask them to fix numerous times (like black paint left on an orange or yellow wall-if I can see it they can too). -Trash left all over our property -Does not return phone calls for days, if ever -Did not complete job -I am mostly upset with myself over this whole experience because many people commented on the sloppiness of the work throughout the time they were at our house (including other subcontractors who were working there). I gave Brian the benefit of the doubt since he talked such a good game. I thought the messiness was the nature of the work and everything would be precise by the time they were done. As time went on, and especially after I saw the consistent lack of respect for our property, I started getting nervous. Sure enough, things just got worse. Now we are left with a ton of things to fix ourselves and have lost thousands of dollars on a crappy job.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing structure is based on the industry standards for our region. This pricing is followed by virtually all PDCA (Painting and Decorating Contractors of America) members and constituents. Generally, we are not going to be the cheapest, but we will be far from the most expensive. Most of our bids are in the direct middle as far as pricing.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically, we begin with a phone call to assess your needs and what it is you are looking to have done. We then schedule a free estimate based on the customer's schedule. During the estimate, we take a detailed look at the type of work to be done, point out imperfections -- things that maybe customers didn't originally see. At this point, we provide the customer what we believe to be the best course of action for painting the surface. At this point, if our estimator and the customer are in agreement, we will take measurements and present pricing on the spot. We will go over paint line options, when the work is to be done, and arrival time in the morning. Before the work is to be done, we will, at customer's request, provide a free color consultation where we help customers choose color, sheen, and texture based on their preference, 2021 paint trends, and the orientation of the room itself.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Everybody who works as a painter in our company has either union or some form of PDCA course experience. As we are painters, most of the trade knowledge is passed from person to person over the generations. With this being said, we make it a point to attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay ahead of the competition. The latest workshop we attended involved advanced lacquer spraying for high end cabinetry. Additionally, two people in our company have attended college courses in construction supervision, ensuring our job sites run smoothly and as comfortably as possible for the customer.
