Introduction: My name is sam smiley (they/them) and my company is LGBTQ owned and operated. My focus is invasive species, bittersweet, and tree disentanglements though I do small job consults too. I am a licensed arborist in Rhode Island (#1194) and I do Permaculture design. Initial consult is $150 if you are within a 20 mile range. I can help you do a complete landscape restoration and design. I also do fine gardening, pruning and urban homesteading. I do not use commercial herbicides but offer pragmatic nontoxic solutions to weedy problems. I would love to work with you to plan your yard's future!

Had difficulty finding a gardener that would plant on cemetary plots, luckily I found Thumbtack. Found someone who was professional and quick to respond. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Sam was a pleasure to deal with and was quick to get the work done before the busy Memorial Day weekend. Definitely recommend.

Details: Residential • Create a new garden on bare dirt • Extra small (less than 1,000 sq ft) • No, I need help buying plants • No, this is a one-time project

Sam is extremely methodical and thorough in their approach to dealing with invasive pack plants. They are well educated in how to deal with and eliminate problem plants like Japanese Knotweed. They are very professional and articulate when speaking to their clients. Highly recommend

I met Sam and Astrodime because someone I trusted made a recommendation. My only surprise with Astrodime crew was that their work so far exceeded my expectations. Sam/Astrodime came onto our 5 overgrown rural acres initially to counter-attack a pesky, tree-killing invasion of bittersweet. Sam's effective counter-attack was a welcome (and affordable!) win. THEN Sam proposed a science-based vision for the next few years, to make our land far more enticing as a natural habitat for native species including butterflies, bees, deer and all sorts of other wildlife. Sam arrived capable. Sam successfully reversed our nasty, tree-killing bittersweet invasion. And then Sam offered a wonderful vision of what could be, on this same patch of earth.
