My name is sam (they/them) and I am the owner and operator of Astrodime LLC. I am a licensed arborist in Rhode Island (#1194). I am a Rhode Island Certified Coastal Invasive Manager (#386). And I am an ISA Certified Arborist® CERT ID: NE-7960A
My company does non chemical invasive removal. No job too big! if we can't do it, we can refer to our trusted associates. We ID and remove bittersweet, japanese knotweed, and we also prioritize tree health. We do not use commercial herbicides but offer pragmatic nontoxic solutions to weedy problems.
In addition, Astrodime can do small tree installation and pruning of trees under 15 feet tall. We provide ecosystem services such as site evaluation, tree inventories, and yard restoration. We are a full service design and consulting company. We are queer-owned and operated, and ready for Climate Change. We would love to work with you on your home ecosystem!

I am so grateful to have found Sam just a couple of months after moving into our home. Our property has overgrowth and had invasive bittersweet, Norway maple, and other invasive weeds. They identified everything I have on the property and divided the work into manageable zones in an eco audit which is like Wikipedia for my yard. Sam and Rex had been working strategically to kill and remove the bittersweet that had been damaging some trees. They provided us with some solutions on managing weeds, suggestions for mulch, and planted us a pumpkin patch to snuff out the weeds in an old vegetable garden. Anything that is too big for Sam to handle, they have someone they know can do the job and has been an excellent go-between. I highly recommend Astrodime and look forward to continuing to work with them.

Had difficulty finding a gardener that would plant on cemetary plots, luckily I found Thumbtack. Found someone who was professional and quick to respond. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Sam was a pleasure to deal with and was quick to get the work done before the busy Memorial Day weekend. Definitely recommend.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer
1) Ecosystem Audit ($150-250 depending on land.) Includes online and/or PDF basemap, identification and recommendations.
2) Full assessment including tree inventory, invasive inventory, soil testing, microclimate identification and long term climate change assessment available starting at $1000.
3) Full restoration and maintenance is available and client pays at the end of the month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For weed/ invasive species management plan:
1) Short conversation on client needs.
2) Site Visit/Ecosystem audit
3) I prepare a weed report and management plan and email it to you in PDF format. This takes no longer than a week and can be done in 3 days typically.
4) Followup conversation if desired or you can go with your own vendors for remediation.
