He came early in fact which was good for me. He put together two cabinets and a time consuming desk. I think it had part A thru Z. He also fixed my leaky kitchen sink He does good work. I recommend him for others who have projects.

Eric came to my home to review what it would take (time/materials) to do the job. While he was here, he took 5 minutes and fixed the pocket door. (Rehung it on the grid) Very unexpected but much appreciated to get it fix without him having to schedule a later time. Eric is very nice. His charges are 36. An hour as he mentioned before he came. He charged me 40.00 for 5 minute job. Although the job was completed successfully, because he charged me 40.00 (not 36 or prorated for the minutes it took to fix the door) for 5 minutes of work, I'm thinking that's a red flag that one should not ignore. one should be careful paying by the hour and not the project. Glad to pay 40. For the project but he said 36 for an hour. But then charged 40 for 5 minutes. Hmm

Debbie failed to mention I gave her a price of $80 minimum charge to put door back on track. When I got there to take a look at the problem on Sunday I was able to fix the door while I was there so I only charged her half price. No Red flag here, seamed to me as a win, win for both of us. I also spent over an hour consulting her on another project she is considering. Which Debbie failed to mention. Hard to understand why some people complain about charging half of what I told them I would charge. Hmmm

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I normally charge [ $50/hour + materials] +15% overhead. I will take cash or check but prefer cash. I offer Quality workmanship for all the work I do. If I travel outside 10 miles, I charge $1/ mile to come for first visit to meet and take measurements and is applied to job when you hire me.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contact me on Thumbtack and make an appointment to come see the job and make estimate. I will do estimate. Once agreed on you hiring me, I come do the work and get paid upon completion of work unless stated differently in estimate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a A.A.S. Degree in Construction Technology and have worked in this field since 1975 , self employed since 1980. I have done all types of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, sheetrock work, painting, drafting, and cabinets.
