- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$125 for one hour or an hourly discount rate of $85-$90 for 2 or more hours . I also take into consideration the distance /travel time, details of the event, number of guests, and any special requests. Most Pros require a 2 hour minimum but I can work with the client depending on distance to travel and how many guests need to be painted.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you are ready to confirm and secure the date- you can click "hire" on Thumbtack. After this, we can discuss details over the phone or via email. Payment can be made online, by business check, or cash on the date of the event. I provide a W-9 and can submit an invoice for payment as soon as you book your date with me. I dont require a deposit but if you need to cancel, please notify as soon as possible so I can work with another clients request if possible. Lastly, we just need to confirm the date, time, venue/location and look forward to the event or party! I typically confirm once more a day ahead of the event by phone, text or email.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There really isn't much professional training in the way of "face painting"- Its a self taught artistry that takes lots of practice and patience. We continue learning. I'm subscribed to several professional FABA sites that teach tutorial. I follow guidelines from the pros who teach techniques, designs and endorse the highest quality professional grade products in the industry. I love coming up with new designs of my own and using the best paints and supplies available are a real advantage. I was a business major but took numerous art courses and teaching art classes to kids and young adults helped me so much over the years. I had an older art instructor showing me the ropes for a while before she retired. The way she taught me how to instruct large groups really helped me manage my lines of children while face painting at large public events.
