I do not recommend this mans services! He charged me $100 and accomplished nothing for me. He did tell me I could add RAM, but it probably wouldnt fix the problem. And it would be expensive. He thought I needed to buy a new computer. I talked to him on the phone for quite some time prior to him coming over and he mentioned going to church and then we started talking about church, so I trusted him. He shared with me that he was not only the technician that would diagnose my computer. He was the owner, this was when I asked what his price was. He told me he could use a coupon or play with the price, because he was the owner and give me a good deal. I was having problems with my computer, not running programs like my bank website, simple things that just werent working right. He came to my house, I believe the next day. I showed him the computer and got it started for him. I told him, Ill leave you to it and about maybe 10 minutes later he walked into the living room where my mother and I were sitting and he walked to my back door, which has a glass pain from top to bottom and said, something to the effect of what a beautiful view you have out here. Then he turned toward where I was sitting on a loveseat (Two seats) and said, I think Ill just sit here with you ladies for a little while. I was a uncomfortable with him being so comfortable that he would just make himself at home, but I assumed he was running a program on my computer and was waiting for it to be completed. I just felt it was very unprofessional. After a few minutes, I asked him are you running a program on my computer? He said Something to the effect of, no your computer wont even let me in to run a program, because its not working well enough. That was when he opened his laptop and told me he thought I should just buy a new computer that one wasnt worth fixing. He worked with the guy and sold Dell computers and would put one together for what I needed. He was showing me computers for sale on his laptop. I got up at that point and I said I know the computer will let you in. Im in it all the time. We went back into my office and he sat down at my computer and then he started opening up settings. Then he said your problem is youre running 4 GB of RAM. He said I dont even know how your computer is working. He wanted to charge me a lot to install more RAM. Plus the cost of the RAM. I had been doing some AI stuff on my own phone while he sat there. In a very short amount of time after I told him I did not want to buy a new computer. I think I wanted to try adding more RAM first. I was going to talk to my husband about it before making a decision. I asked him what I owed him and he charged me $100. The only thing I got from him when he went in the computer was a warranty that he said I had on the computer from 2021 to 2022. When I looked up my serial number, it explained that all the numbers in a serial number meant something and part of it was the year it was made, and there was only one year that made sense at that point based on the warranty. That helped me to know how old my computer was. And I learned I had 4 GB of RAM. I wanted to argue about how ridiculous that price was for what he did, but I was exhausted and stressed. Im disabled and Im taking care of my 95-year-old mother with Alzheimers. I just wanted him out of my house. I did not feel I could trust him to do any more work for me. I felt very taken advantage of by his fees for what what he did, which was pretty much nothing. I watched two YouTube videos later. I learned where the RAM was, what it looked like and how to take my computer apart and add 4 more GB of RAM. I ordered everything very inexpensively from Amazon, and followed the YouTube instructions. It was easy and it fixed everything myself. I dont even need more than 8 GB of RAM. I reached out to David Sutherland after I fixed my computer and I told him he should give me a refund, because he ripped me off I felt. I felt he didnt even know what he was doing. He said he doesnt give refunds. He felt he earned the money.
