FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Constantly - that's why I love IT, it's always changing and updating itself on a daily basis.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After spending over 25 hours in one week in meetings instead of actually doing computer support - it wasn't cost-effective for the company and it wasn't working on a plan to improve customer support - yet they insisted they were a "customer-centered" business. Then a friend was complaining about their IT personal leaving their small family-owned company - they just couldn't offer him the salary he was worth - and it was difficult trying to find an IT person to work part-time. He asked if I could come work a few issues, that he'd be happy to pay me for my time. I solved the issue pretty quick - and another one the following week. He recommended me to a friend, it just went on from there....
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Much of it is virus scans & extractions - too many folks downloading files & being on sites they shouldn't be at work. I can also adjust network settings to limit internet sites...and time spent on it.
