FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have no standard system with pricing for house sitting or dog walking. If it is overnight and very close to me home I charge $59 per night. If it is up to 10 miles from my home, I charge $69 per night. My duties would include feeding, watering, dispensing medicine, and playing with the dog or showing attention to other animals. I would also water houseplants and bring in the newspaper in the mail.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Share about who I am and find out about their needs. Ask what schedule of time suits them and synchronize our calendars.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started house and dog sitting in 1980 at my parents house when they were on long vacations.
