We were lucky to find Brandee so easily and quickly - we chose her because she had months worth of good reviews. She was able to deal with a LOT of obstacles, including ongoing re-flooring throughout the time of her pet-sitting. Our older dogs don't love going potty outside when it's raining, and she came by extra times on the rainy day to make sure they were able to go, and she also cleaned up the mess they left inside. Very responsive when we texted her during the trip. She took good care of the house, brought in the mail, texted us pictures when the floors were finished, and left a nice note on our dry-erase board. We will definitely seek out her services in the future when we're away. Thanks Brandee!

I had a great experience! She was very responsive and patient. She took the time to come meet my dog and I to ensure that we were a great fit. She kept me up to date on what was occurring with my pet and even sent me pictures! My dog loves her and I love her quality of work. I would recommend her to anyone and I will definitely be using her again.

I travel often for my job and have to leave my pets with others. It was fantastic to have Charlie out to the home this last month during my travels. I came home to find my four legged kids well cared for and a home that was as well. There were no accidents that I could find (or smell) and there was a new toy that was added to the mix. The furry kiddos love that toy! Charlie was attentive to my pets, home and my directions. Charlie earned my trust and I will be hiring him to care for my dogs for my next trip.

Let me help you while you are away like a good neighbor but more sincere. I do pet sitting, feeding, walking, and cuddling mainly for dogs and cats.

We are a full-service grooming salon offering salon and mobile grooming services. We are open from Mondays to Saturdays at 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We have four experienced groomers to meet all of your pet grooming needs.

I provide pet sitting and errand service serving Mt. Pleasant, SC. My client base includes dogs, cats and 1 turtle. I love animals, and I love my job. In addition, I run an errand service to make your life easier. I am licensed, bonded and insured. Your pets and your house are safe with Prater Tot's.

I pet sit as a part-time job. I personally have six cats, two dogs, a bunny and a turtle. I'm highly responsible and have had experience working with a wide range of pets. I will feed your pets and give them my attention, potty breaks and walks as needed. I will also administer any medication necessary and keep you up-to-date on your pets while you are away. I'm reasonably priced for $15 per visit. If you are located over 30 minutes away from me, then it is $20. That includes all animals. As a loving pet owner, I realize that pet care can be very expensive especially when you go on a vacation, so I try to keep my prices reasonable. Initial visits are complimentary as I use them to get to know your pet, you and the daily routine. I can provide references also. Thank you for your consideration.

When you have done this type of work for as long as i have people tend to just see it as a job and they no longer care but i am not like that i truly love animals and i love working with them i love to see just hom smart they are and what all they can do and i always treat them like they were my own!

Hi there! I am a travelling yogi who recently moved to Charleston area. I love all the living creatures, but dogs, of course, belong to a special category. I've spent most of my life being surrounded by animals, and now, as my schedule does not allow me to have one on my own, you actually would be doing me a favour for letting me taking care of yours. I will do all I can, so your dog returns home happy, relaxed and walk/play-tired.

I will keep your house tidy and clean and also occasionally do the dishes. Also, I love animals, so I will watch them too.

I walk dogs to the park, let them get fresh air, wash and feed them. I do everything right for the dogs. I love them, so I am good with dogs. That way, my business is great because your dog will be taken care of.

I make sure that your pet has all their needs throughout the day. I will walk them 2-3 times a day and take them to the dog park. Your pet will have lots of care in my hands.

I try to become friends with the animals instead of just treating it like a job I interact with the animals.

I'm an avid animal lover with several years of experience as a pet care provider and pet owner. I'm available for pet sitting, walking, bathing, etc. I'm very flexible.

I love all animals and have three dogs and a cat. I enjoy taking care of pets for folks that have to be away from their special friends!

We always leave a report card after each visit so clients know when we were there and how your pet was for us.

It stands out because I do my job! I love making pets and their owners happy.

My name is Lexi and I am 19 years old. I go to school at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee but I am home in Charleston for the summer. This summer I am looking to do jobs where I can both work with animals and get exercise. For the past two summers I have walked dogs, fed pets, and have even cleaned fish tanks! What’s different about my services is that I do not ask for a specific price. All I ask is for a small donation of whatever you can afford to my Study Abroad savings. I am trying to save up money doing whatever I can so that I may travel around the world this fall. I can accept Venmo, cash, check, or even gift cards haha! And if you find yourself desperately needing help but aren’t able to pay, I would be happy to just help you out for free! Please let me know how I can help you this summer! I am very flexible and can provide my own transportation!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
