About
I live to create narratives that help underdogs exceed their wildest dreams!
With over 18 years of professional experience as a freelance artist I have worked on over 40 children’s books, 400 hundred animations, and thousands of professional illustrations. I’ve worked for large companies like Google, Microsoft, and Nucor but my favorite clients are self-publishing authors and small studios.
Many talented artists lack a sense of order and can be a challenge to work with. I feel that I am easy and fun to work with. I have strong communication skills, quick turnaround times, and a positive attitude. I finish my projects on time and on budget. I love what I do and if you give me a chance I think you will too!

Eric took our story and gave life to its characters…the end result was a beautifully illustrated book that my associate and I are very proud of. He is detail oriented and his calm manner allowed us to work quickly and efficiently. He was committed to our project from start to finish. I highly recommend Eric to translate your idea into a graphic design that will more than please.

Eric is an amazing illustrator with creativity that goes far beyond what you could imagine. He has the ability to read the words of your story, then turn the words into the most incredible visual representation. Our first book together is outstanding, and I'm looking forward to the completion of number two!

Awesome work! He took the time to learn the vision God gave me for my pictures and went with it! He will keep doing revisions until you tell him it is perfect. He gets the pictures done in a very timely manner with outstanding quality.
I highly recommend him!

Eric is a gifted illustrator and has a knack for knowing just how I imagined my story would come to life on the pages. Eric is fun to work with and it makes the process and steps towards publishing enjoyable and stress-free. He is a great teacher-for a novice like me-he is willing to take the time to share info, guidance to help me navigate publishing my first book. When I thought up something new to add to the book, Eric without realizing gave me lots of encouragement and I felt great about myself and my work. A stroke of luck to find Thumbtack and Eric. While nervous about my first children's book- with Eric's experience and support this book is finally happening. Very grateful.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is very dependant on the style of art you are wanting and the amount of detail as well as the number of characters. It is always helpful if you can show me something similar that you found online.
Most children's books take about 40-60 hours to complete.
Animation usually runs $1,200 per minute.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most projects follow this same basic process:
1. Gather Information - You describe your project to me. I'll probably ask a few questions for clarification.
2. Submit Concepts - I create several concepts or sketches and email them to you for review.
3. Create Artwork - Based on your feedback, I modify the concepts or create the final artwork. The project is submitted again.
4. Revise as Needed - I make any final adjustments and resubmit the project. I continue to make modifications until you are completely satisfied.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2002, I graduated from the Koe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. I have been working on freelance jobs ever since.
