I have lots of experience with children, being a mother of 4 grown children, homeschooling them as well as teaching Parent/Child, Preschool & Youth swim lessons for over 5 years,some with disabilities , many with fears, I have seen transformation from fear to joy. I am careful to encourage, always moving forward and gaining confidence. Seeing people free from fear of water, gaining independence to enjoy the pleasure of swimming.

What a great person, and instructor!!!! The kids love her kind and fun way of learning to be a strong swimmer. One of my grandkids could not swim, and that turned around with 3 lessons. Super Positive and encouraging , the children can't wait for their next lesson!

My daughter is ten years old and loves the water. I thought it would be a good idea to get her proper swim lessons over the summer. I thought about sending her to the YMCA, but I work from home and I am very busy so the drive/traffic were really an issue. We have a pool here at our complex, and Nancy came here to teach. She was right on time, and very patient. After just one lesson, I can already see the difference. I suggest Nancy to everyone! You won't be sorry!

Our granddaughter visits twice a year and we signed her up for swim lessons at the Franklin YMCA this summer. Kaylie had a very positive experience and improved each day. She was encouraged with her progress and wanted to continue her lessons when she got back to KY. Thank you, Franklin YMCA for your patient encouragement of a somewhat reluctant student!

The swim program at the YMCA Franklin is excellent. My 9 and 12 year old children both took private lessons from Nancy Hawkins and loved it. Nancy was very patient with them and encouraging. We had to reschedule a lesson and she was kind and respectful of our time issues. We will definitely sign up with her again for refresher courses!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contact the new client, find out their water experience, special, goals for taking swimming lessons, special needs or information that would help me to better teach to them, set up/schedule times for swimming lessons. Explain payment, class cancellation, policies/waivers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a Y USA Swim Instructor for 5 yrs, teaching Parent/Child Group lessons, Preschool and Youth Group lessons as well as Private lessons. My clients range from 6 months (w/parents in the water) to 75 yrs old. I also a stay at home mom to my 4 children, homeschooling them till middle school. All of my training was hands on.
