FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our standard fee for all events is $400.00 which covers up to 4 hours of play time. If the event is scheduled to last for longer than 4 hours or if we happened to play past the initial 4 hours, there is a $75.00 per hour overage charge for each additional hour that is charged in 30 minute increments. There is also a charge of $0.51 per mile for travel to and from the event location that exceeds 50 miles from our home location in Kingsport, TN. We do offer a smaller scale package for events that will have fewer guests than 30 and/or will be in a smaller area such as a backyard or a living room, etc. The charge for this type of event is $300.00 but this package requires a discussion between the DJ and the customer to determine if it is the acceptable package for the event. All other overage charges for additional hours and mileage also apply to this package. The standard package features utilization of the full sound system, full music collection, customized playlist and scheduling if needed, lighting, fog, MC services, etc. at no extra charge to the customer. The smaller scale package features a smaller sound system with limited music selection, no lighting or fog, no MC service, and playlists in some situations may be left to the DJ's discretion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm constantly reading publications in periodicals, on the web, etc. to learn about the new developments in the art of mobile DJ'ing. I also am constantly working to keep my music collection up to date and stocked with as many types of music from as many different decades and genres as possible. This is why we like to boast we play the hits of today, tomorrow, and yesterday!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was in school there was a fellow who did the music for all of the school dances back then. He called his service "Full House II". I always thought he did an excellent job and I always dreamed of how awesome it would be to play hit music for people to dance to and have a great time. As I got older Full House II disappeared and other local DJ's began providing the music. They were usually some fellow who happened to have a PA system but not much music or someone's dad who did DJ'ing as a hobby. Some were better than others but for the most part none of them ever seemed to totally please their audiences 100%. There were also some who didn't take it seriously and would show up inebriated and would only play music they liked rather than what the people at the event were requesting. It was at this time I decided to make my dream become a reality and I always vowed I would be a DJ who people wanted to hear because I would listen to the people. I planned at that time to put all other mediocre DJ's out of business because I planned on being the BEST! To this day I work toward continuous improvement and always look for ways to better my service because I believe delivering a quality performance is most important for your customers.
