- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For boundary surveys I charge by the linear foot of boundary line located. There is a minimum price for a parcel of land that is 1/2 acre or less, $700. The unit rate per foot depends upon the type of terrain. Elevation Certificates depend on scope and size of project with a minimum of $1,200. Construction survey is priced at $150 per hours. Expert Witness Services is $90 per hour.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All land surveyors are required to obtain 15 hours of continuing education every year to maintain there license to operate.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I spent 12 years in the U.S. Army as an intelligence analyst. When I exited the military I got a desk job as a C/C++ Programmer. I missed being outside so I decided to get licensed as a land surveyor.
