I have greatly enjoyed my experience at Nashville Music Academy! The lessons (banjo) themselves have been wonderful and the experience with the company is top notch. They have helped me by setting up recurring appointments and payments to make the experience as easy as possible.

John is an extraordinary teacher. He has a way of taking something complicated and making it easily understood. I've played bass for years, but never learned how to read music. John has taken what I knew already and focused it into not just reading music, but understanding music theory. After just a few weeks, I'm sight-reading, playing better than I ever have before and continuing to learn something new every day. Money and time well spent with a great mentor!

Nathan has been teaching my daughter how to play guitar and she's enjoying his teaching style and learning a lot at the same time. She had never picked up a guitar before and so we had to sort of force her to start the lessons at first. After only a few lessons, she was practicing on her own and enjoying her ability to play pieces of songs. We have even joined in and had him teach us some things on the side after her lesson was over which he was more than happy to do. I appreciate the time slot he's given us since we work all week and don't come home until later in the evening. We are seeing great improvements in how our daughter plays guitar and she is able to even teach us a few things that she learned! Thanks Nathan!

We really enjoyed Kristen! She seemed to know the music business well and shared her experiences with us. Kristen tailored her lessons to my daughter's needs, and I was able to see improvements quickly. I would definitely recommend Kristen.

Marcin is an outstanding teacher and able to cater the lessons perfectly for what I was looking for. For 6 years I've been working as a producer, engineer and drummer in town. I decided to take lessons in order to better my ear, widen my skill set to another instrument and enhance my knowledge of music theory. Thanks to Marcin's approach, after 2 months I'm further along in all three of those categories than I ever imagined I would be. On top of being a gifted instructor he's just a really great person. I really can't recommend him enough!

I took lessons from Caleb for more than a year. Caleb was always enthusiastic, always well-prepared, and always ready when it was time for our lesson to begin. He sensed that I was interested in (and didn't know much about) music theory, so he worked that in to the lessons. We always worked on music I was interested in, which made practicing more fun, and Caleb frequently recommended music and YouTube clips I might be interested in. My love for music--the act of making music--increased while I took lessons from Caleb. Studio C goes beyond just 30 minute lessons once a week. While I took lessons, students performed in at least two recitals, and in a "Pianorama" mass concert as part of the greater Nashville scene of musicians. Caleb goes above and beyond to offer the best learning experience he can. I would love to see Studio C expand to Rutherford County. Maybe a day a week traveling to customers in Smyrna and Murfreesboro would be possible as the business grows. The success of Studio C is clearly an indication of Caleb's outstanding service and passion for what he does, his commitment to his craft, and his intelligence as a business owner. My experience with Studio C was a very positive one.

I took weekly guitar lessons from Matt Kass for six years when he lived in Philadelphia. Matt focuses on teaching you the music you want to learn to play and at a pace that is comfortable to your level of proficiency. He combines instruction on the fundamentals of playing a guitar with the basics of music theory so that lesson time is spent not just on how to play the guitar by why particular chords or notes work together and their relationship to the different modes of the major scale. As a professional musician, Matt is thoroughly knowledgeable about the guitar and music in general but is incredibly personable, thoughtful, reliable and friendly. He is able to tailor his teaching approach to your individual needs and helps you progress at a pace that is appropriate to your skill level. The thing that impressed me the most in Matt's teaching ability was his patience and willingness to help me around obstacles or plateaus in my playing ability. You feel that he is fully invested in your learning and shows a willingness to try different approaches to helping you succeed. I would highly recommend Matt as a guitar instructor. He is a terrific teacher and an excellent musician.

I've been a mostly self taught musician for years, and have been in several different bands since I first started playing. I play guitar and keyboards in my current band, and wanted to expand my knowledge of music theory and overall ability to play piano. Before taking lessons with Jon, my music knowledge basically consisted of random tutorials and lessons on YouTube and observing other players. Jon has helped give me a clear direction of what I needed to do to improve with lessons that he has tailored to allow me to learn exactly what I had hoped to. I didn't really have any desire to learn to read sheet music, but rather learn to read charts and use my own creativity to make music. He is patient, he explains things well, and he is genuinely invested in helping me become a better player. I am 24, but I feel certain that these attributes apply to his lessons with children as well. Highly recommend!

My experience with Chef Dave was incredible! I had Dave come out for a private lesson for me and a friend. Dave told us to bring the kinds of foods we wanted to cook. We had asked for help with knife skills and cooking healthy foods. He told us he had several ideas for lean proteins like chicken and fish and lots with vegetables, and he did not disappoint! We hit the ground running - Chicken piccata, braised chicken, and pesto salmon, roasted beet and goat cheese salad with lemon vinaigrette, roasted butternut squash, and wild and brown rice! And I learned how to hold use my chef knife, how to cut beets, butternut squash, a whole pineapple, a mango, and how to mince shallots and garlic! I have been so inspired by the lesson. I am so excited about what I have learned. I still feel inspired! Thanks Chef Dave!

I walked into my first O-Kaye Productions music lesson and was so hopeful to find a different experience than I’d encountered in the past with vocal training. I didn’t want to sing Latin songs or spend every lesson on exercises. I wanted someone to help me find my style, push my range, teach me dynamics and help me find more confidence in performance. And now, after several years of being an O-Kaye student, I not only have drastically changed as a singer but as a person. I’ve been pushed and loved on and supported in my music dreams. I would say yes and yes and yes to anyone who is looking at starting music lessons with O-Kaye!!! Every penny spent is so very worth every lesson and skill learned. O-Kaye productions is truly the different experience I was hoping for in vocal training and I only wish I had known about it sooner.

Ace comes to our lessons on time, and with a plan. She remembers what I've been practicing, and knows how to get me to the next level. She gives me her full attention for the whole time we're in the lesson, and when it's time to wrap it up, she leaves me with clear assignments for how to practice and what to practice - and it's always something fun, challenging and yet attainable that makes me want to come back to my instrument. Ace makes it fun to work hard at getting better.

Bob Lewis was my on and off guitar teacher for close to 10 years in Wilkes-Barre Pa. I started with Bob at 12, gave up (my first mistake!) taught myself came back at 16 and studied with him for four or five years. In those four/five years I learned General to Moderate level Music Theory including Diatonic Theory, Chord building Theory, scale theory, chord progressions, picking posture ect. I could go on for days about what I learned but the fact that the social climate of those thirty minute weekly sessions was always calm, relaxed and full of fresh ideas. Every concept was very straight forward and if it was a bit complex (such as modal guitar solos,) Bob would explain it in a way that made sense based on our prior sessions (aka, he actually adapts to your idiosyncrasies ) At any point when I hit a wall Bob was immediately finding ways to climb over the wall. If it was not in that session by next week he would have devised a plan to work on overcoming the daunting idea at hand. Aside from the straight forward learning methods, if you go into a lesson with Bob off the cuff without any goals in mind for your development he can easily break down what you need to work on and how your should work on it. Also... Bob can shred...so fear not fret board wizards! As for what could have been better I have not much to say. The fact is with most good teachers your own ignorance is usually the problem and when i started at 12 by the time i came back at 16 I realized that Bob's method was not flawed, it was my attention span. The Man is a brilliant guitar player and all around musician and is well worth your time.

My first Nashville experience on Music Row was at Meredith Blis Music Studio and I couldn't have chosen a better place to start. Her techniques for getting comfortable and filling in the gaps on what I didn't know about voice technique was instant. Meredith has knowledge even beyond vocals that applies to anyone building a career in music.

About

I feel that I have a knack for style, and helping people find what they really want out of music. Of course, if you're just starting, learning the mechanics of the instrument is the most important. But your instrument is really just an extension of yourself, and you eventually want to play how you feel. Its an extraordinary thing!

About

I help my students by teaching them what they enjoy learning. Whether in the field of music or school subjects, such as reading, writing or math, my students receive a full and comprehensive curriculum.
