Peer Power Foundation

Introduction: Peer Power hires college and high school peers to develop a long term relationship of trust and respect. The tutors know the subjects, but a certified teacher supervises every tutor session. We use daily and weekly checks and reinforcement for learning long term. We use real examples of how to use math and science in every day life, while encouraging the development of reading comprehension skills. We use college professors to teach the ACT Prep Courses, Science Saturdays, Creative Writing and Career Saturdays. The college mentors are both tutor and mentors. All students are part of a learning team and work together all year sometimes for the entire high school matriculation.
