- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been drawing for as long as i can remember. When it came time to pick a college and a major, i felt graphic design was a gateway to all the things i wanted to do in art. Design was a way to use multiple kinds of media to tell stories and express myself.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently worked on a comprehensive brand guide for a christian high school. I'd done brand guides before, but this one included editorial guidelines. It was a fantastic learning experience and i found that i really enjoy editorial work. Hopefully i get to do more in the future.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you're contracting anyone for the job, make sure you've done your due diligence. Figure out your scope and budget ahead of time. The more you have planed business-wise, the easier it will be for you to articulate your needs and give all the necessary information up front. It also helps to keep you organized and prevent any confusion later.
