Premier Piano Lessons taught in person to those local to the Memphis area (based out of Sea Isle Park neighborhood) and online across all US time zones! Online lessons are VERY popular and make up about 75% of students in this Studio!
Curious about what lessons look like? We love to be transparent from the beginning! Read below for general studio policies, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions! Phone Number and Email down below.
General Studio Information
Lessons are taught in my home or Online through Zoom. An address for local students will be given upon enrollment. Online Students may look to their Welcome Email for specifics on how to log in and attend their lesson.
Lessons are scheduled weekly unless otherwise arranged.
Structure of Lessons
Lessons are based on annual enrollment. This means the tuition will be the same regardless of the number of lessons in the month (some months will be 3 and others will be 5). This tuition is all inclusive for the time spent receiving instruction, recital opportunities, and covers expenses related to lesson planning, invoicing, and transaction costs. Books and Music are the responsibility of the student and are NOT included with Tuition.
The tuition already accounts for a 2-week break in Winter, Other Holidays (see below), 2 student-missed lessons, and 4 teacher-missed lessons. If a student does not miss those 2 lessons, they will be considered a bonus! Read below for more information on make-ups.
A Deposit equal to 1 month's Tuition is required upon enrollment. Deposit will be applied to the student's Last Invoice (provided a 1-Month Notice is given).
Tuition Rates (per month)
30-Minutes: $135
45-Minutes: $185
60-Minutes: $230
Important Guidelines
Private Lessons: 44 Weekly Piano Lessons (42 included in tuition). Your time is reserved only for you. Two of these lessons are built-in “missed” lessons. If you miss them, there is no need to make them up. If you make all of them then you get bonus lessons! Remember you do not pay more for the 5th week months. If for any reason I miss more lessons, I will prorate the tuition or make up the missed lesson.
Remaining Holidays for 2023-2024: July 3-6.
2024-2025 Holidays include: Sep 1-2, Nov 26-30, Dec 20-Jan 4, May 23-27, and July 2-5.
All students will begin with 30-Minute lessons. As students improve, they may be recommended to longer lessons (45-Minute or 60-Minute). Young learners are generally recommended to move to 45-Minute Lessons after they have completed the Primer Level. Adults can make this change at any time if they are not feeling challenged enough with 30-Minutes lessons.
Students are expected to be prompt for their lessons in order to receive the full time. Students arriving late may not receive their full time paid. If the teacher is late, accommodations will be made to adjust for any lost time.
Students may un-enroll at any time – but please provide at least a 1-Month Notice.
Students who un-enroll will not have their space saved in the Studio. Your spot will be filled with another student waiting to enroll!
Students looking to re-enroll may be added to a Wait List if the Studio’s Schedule is full.
Make-Ups: Due to high demand for lessons, there are not many opportunities for a make-up lesson in the event you miss more than the 2 built into your tuition. I cannot guarantee any make-up lessons if there are no available spots in my schedule. However, if I do have an open spot, I will gladly reschedule you as long as I am given proper notice! If you plan to miss a lesson, please let me know ASAP as there may be other students looking to make up a lesson in your place!
Refunds are not available for missed lessons. Tuition is based on enrollment, not use.
Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend children’s lessons! Your involvement in your child’s musical development is important!
Practice: It is highly recommended that in order for you to get the most out of your lessons, you spend time at home between lessons practicing. The progress you make each week relies more on what you do at home on your own than what we do together in your lesson. YOU set the pace for your musical growth.
You will be taught how to efficiently practice. It is recommended that you spend short amounts of time each day practicing rather than binge-practicing the day before your lesson. There is no set number of minutes or hours required to practice each week, as the quality of your practicing is more important than the quantity.
Parents looking for guidelines on children’s practice habits should ask me what the recommendations are for their age and level. Generally, it is recommended to practice a minimum of 4 different days each week (more is better). Beginners should plan to practice for 10 minutes at a time, but older and more advanced students may require longer times (15, 20, or even 30 minutes at a time).
Recitals/Performances are scheduled to be Online over Zoom for the 2024-2025 Studio Year. Students are expected to perform in at least one. They are scheduled for Fall (November 23), Winter (March 1), and Spring (June 7).
If the student has a medical condition that may affect behavior, attendance, or performance, please let me know prior to the first lesson so that I may make accommodations.
Sickness: If you are feeling ill, please use your best judgment as early as you can to decide if you can still meet for a lesson. In cases of fever, lessons should be canceled. For students feeling slightly ill but still wanting to have a lesson, Online Lessons are highly recommended until the student is healthy again.
In rare and specific circumstances, students may reduce lesson attendance to no less than 50% enrollment and maintain their spot in the Studio’s schedule. Ask for details.
Discounts are available to students who leave reviews or refer others to take lessons.
