PORTEN is a full service architecture studio that focuses on residential and commercial architecture and interiors, expressing simplicity, utility and playfulness stemming from a fundamental desire to break some rules. We believe that good design and well crafted architecture develop through attention to detail and an understanding of each unique situation our clients bring to us. Our projects are intended to stay within our orbit from early schematic through construction, ensuring that the conversation continues until project completion. We see architecture as the ability to reveal solutions to everyday challenges and to craft your definition of being at home. Through this process of conversation, reiteration and complete design, the spaces our homeowners and their guest inhabit, as a result, feel familiar. Founded in Nashville and now based in Brooklyn, PORTEN works on projects throughout New York and Tennessee.
