I have had a passion for playing the drums since I was 11 years old. I knew very early on I was going to be a professional drummer and wanted to learn everything I could to ensure a successful career in music. This open minded attitude has led to touring, recording, teaching and amazing musical experiences beyond what I could've imagined. I want to pass along everything I've learned over my 30+ year career as a full-time musician and help you realize your own drumming goals. I consider myself a lifelong student of the drums (and music in general) and want to instill a sense of curiosity and infinite possibility in all of my students. Everyday I learn something new about drumming, piano playing, music composition or music production and it has kept me inspired throughout my life. Music is truly a road that never ends and will enrich your life everyday if you choose to pursue it!

My son has only just started drumlessons, but so far Rob has been great to work with. He is very quick to respond to questions and tries to make connecting online for lessons as easy and smooth as possible. He interacts well with my son and has already provided additional support with video tutorials to help my son practice between lessons. So far, my son is really enjoying taking lessons!

I cannot thank Mr. Lee enough. My son who is 8 years old started taking lessons from him. He has done only two classes but it seems that he has progressed so much. Mr. Lee is not just a good teacher, but he has filled my 8 year old with enthusiasm, excitement and passion to learn. I see him practicing everyday. His previous Drum instructor took no interest in him nor did he answer any questions that my son would ask. I was a little afraid about putting him in a drum class with a remote instructor. But Mr. Lee asked me to try out his free class and see if works out for us. I was there the whole time in my son's first class and was amazed to see how being remote never posed a single problem, on the contrary my son really picked up fast. Mr. Lee himself is a great drummer and I am so thankful that we found him. I hope to see my son drumming at a professional level one day with his guidance. Thank you Mr Lee🙏

My 11-year-old son had an orientation lesson with Rob he was very detailed meticulous and was very much interested to know what my son wants to play. His attention to my new aspects of drums really impressed me. Me and my son talked to three agencies and undoubtedly he picked Rob for his future drumlessons. We are ending a contract with the current agency and soon will be starting lessons with Rob in the summer summer.

I had my first 1/2 he intro lesson with Rob Lee yesterday 5/20/2021. I was delighted with his warm demeanor and his interest in knowing what my goals are for taking lessons. He is a good listener and very polite in general .I’ve been a hand drummer/percussionist on the semipro level for 20 years. At 67 yes old I have decided to fulfill my long term goal for learning the drum set . Rob was very encouraging and is giving me a plan to learn the strong fundamentals as I will need as a rank beginner to stick work . He’s made electronic charts for me to practice with which is great!
I also would like to mention that the virtual lesson on my iPad was really great. No latency issues and very enjoyable! I highly reccomend him!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My single lesson rate is $60/hr or four 60 min lessons for $220. Shorter lessons will be a flat rate of $30/30min or $45/45min. I will provide 1 free initial 30 minute online lesson/consultation with no obligation to commit to more lessons. This is a great way for us to meet and I can answer any questions you (or your parents) may have. It also gives me a chance to understand your musical goals and aspirations and how I can best help you to achieve them.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My goal with any new student is to try to understand what they want to achieve in music. I always want to tailor my lessons to their needs and goals while spending some time in each lesson on fundamental concepts. It's more important to me that a student continues with music and enjoys the process, than following a strict, generalized curriculum. It is with this in mind that I want to spend time learning about their musical background, tastes and goals in their early lessons so that I can provide inspiration along with their instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a full-time professional drummer for over 30 years and have experience playing a variety of styles in many different musical settings. I have also had the opportunity to study with some incredible teachers including Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck), John Riley (Manhattan School Of Music, Village Vanguard Orchestra) and Leland Beach (Louisiana Philharmonic). I studied for one year at the University of New Orleans in the Jazz Studies program and have recently begun to study music production at the Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC).
