As a lifelong cynic, smoker and hater of all things athletic, I was less than enthusiastic to join a gym or begin an exercise program at 50+ ..until a guilty conscience and rave reviews from my friends led me to Emily... Her extensive background, knowledge of physiology and experience working with people of all ages, ability levels and limitations along with her warmth and sparkling personality gives her the edge. Whether in a group class or individual training, Emily does her homework and customizes every session to the needs of each participant.. She is able to motivate and challenge us to push our limits while being sensitive to our specific areas of weakness so that we do not become discouraged. She is flexible and creative, constantly changing the routines, combining yoga, Pilates and free weights into each session, incorporating cardio and strength training to maximize results. In just a few weeks, I've seen and felt dramatic improvements in my muscle tone, energy level, balance, endurance and self confidence.. and, most dramatically, my fear of strenuous physical activity:) Emily rocks!

I started training with Emily in March, 2012. At that time, though I led a healthy lifestyle, I was not physically fit, and being in my late forties, I had a few areas of pain and some balance issues. I needed Emily to motivate and train me to a fitness level required for an intense 11-day kayaking trip in late July. Emily was phenomenal! She introduced me to a combination of machines and circuit training, encouraging me every little step of the way. I instantly felt that I could trust her, to care for me and motivate me to strength and fitness. I continued training with Emily after the trip, I can't imagine not having her motivation and leadership for my physical fitness. Emily is a caring, giving, knowledgeable, strong, and motivating trainer. She puts a lot of experience and time into planning a perfect workout that is tailored to individual needs. Whether I see her only once a week or as many as three times, I always leave Emily feeling grateful for improved health and fitness in my life.

Emily helped me with developing an exercise program and eating healthy. During the six months we worked together I lost 25 lbs and 4 inches off my waste. My main goal is trying to learn to live heathy and have more energy. Emily is so supportive and encouraging and she is extremity knowable in areas of health,fitness and nutrition.. The best part, she is fun and very easy to work with.

    I use both personal training and many formats of group exercise (yoga, pilates, Kickboxing, step, trx, bosu) to help clients reach maximum results during a fun workout.
