My grandparents, Bil and Jeanie, had three beautiful cherrywood pieces of furtniture that they gifted to Shayne and I. We were given permission to refinish them and I want to say a huge thank you to Richard Sturtridge and “The Painted Cow Furniture Company” for keeping the integrity of each piece while adding a finely detailed look. He came to preview the pieces, provided transportation and his pricing was unbeatable. If you have refinishing needs, he’s your guy!Mar 24, 2019Verified
Painted Cow did a tremendous job on refinishing a piece of furniture my father made 45 years ago. The service was punctual, affordable and expertly executed. My brother asked how I managed to get the refinishing done. I can finally say "I have a guy"Sep 25, 2018Verified
Richard is refinishing several pieces of furniture for me. He picked one piece up Wednesday. I have received one picture and two texts showing his progress.Jun 15, 2018Verified
I had initially gone with another professional for my table refinishing project, but was not happy with the work. So I contacted Richard with Painted Cow Furniture Company, whom I had almost hired in the beginning. I was very happy with the work he did. He obviously knows a lot about furniture and different kinds of wood, and he seems to love working on different pieces. He actually refinished a second piece for me after I was so happy with the first. He is very punctual, very responsive, and I definitely recommend him for furniture repair and refinishing. I will hire him again if he is available.Jun 7, 2017Verified
My daughter and her husband live in Nashville and wanted to have an old family piece refinished. Not being familiar with anyone there to do this, I contacted a sister of a friend of mine who in turn put out an e-mail for me requesting names of furniture refinishers. The name that came to me through this e-mail was Richard Sturtridge's name. The woman giving the referral had nothing but praise for him. I contacted him and in a most timely and professional manner, he brought the worn out piece back to life and even found knobs to replace those that had been lost. The dresser looks amazing and we are very happy with his work. Will use Richard again and would recommend him to anyone!Mar 27, 2016

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Once we have made contact on Thumbtack we arrange a time when I can visit the work in question to make a final decision.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I imported antiques from Indonesia for 15 years and learned everything from doing.
