- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a lifeguard when I was 15 in my neighborhood pool and I loved being around the water so much that I decided to take the Water Safety Instructor course so that I could teach. I've been teaching every year since 1995.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I teach swimming to people of all ages. I start teaching kids at 8 months and the oldest person I have taught was 78 years young. I also teach people with disabilities. I have been teaching for 18 years and I love what I do. I can either come to your pool or you can come to mine. I will drive up to 25 miles to teach. I am a Water Safety Instructor as well as my lifeguard instructor and have kept my certification current for 18 years.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I'm proud of all of my jobs. Everyone that I teach, leaves the pool feeling comfortable in the water, able to swim and knows the safety of the pool.
