Hello! My name is JoAnne and I am a Nashville-based voice teacher. I have a Master’s Degree in Vocal Pedagogy, and I am obsessed with vocal health.
If you don’t know what vocal pedagogy is, it’s all the science-y stuff about singing.
I primarily teach musical theatre and pop singers, but I also have students who sing classical and other commercial styles. My clientele ranges from professional actors to hobbyists, and I love working with all my students.
With over a decade of teaching experience, I am here to demystify the voice for you and help you find freedom like you’ve never known before.

I cannot recommend JoAnne enough! As a classical singer who didn't think I could belt, she has opened up a whole new style of singing to me! Her teaching style is practical, grounded in solid technique, and with concrete exercises to work on outside of lessons. She is a kind and empathetic human, and she creates a safe space in her studio to try new things, explore, make ugly sounds, and be vulnerable. She has helped me approach new pieces with healthy, accessible technique and I never felt like I was hurting or stressing my voice. Since I started working with her, my ability and confidence have grown SO much. She definitely knows what she's talking about!

JoAnne is a fantastic teacher! She's so knowledgeable, not only about the voice but also about how learning works. I always get great value out of our lessons, and leave knowing how to keep practicing on my own. I'm a classical singer who decided to learn belting and other contemporary techniques, and JoAnne has been amazing at helping me find new sounds in a sustainable way. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing/recommended packages are dependent upon client age, experience, and needs.
However intro lessons are always discounted to $50 for a 30 minute Zoom lesson. From there we will determine the best options and next steps for you!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First lesson consist of a vocal analysis, discussion of background and goals, and game planning for optimal growth. Where we start depends on your unique experience and goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With a Master's in Vocal Pedagogy and over 10 years as a voice teacher, I have amassed a huge knowledge-base that contributes to my teaching. Beyond my formal education, I hold myself to the standard of completing continuing education regularly and staying in tune with what is happening in the field of voice pedagogy.
