FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly taking webinars and seminars on different aspects of photography. My latest seminar was on special lighting techniques.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
As you look for a photographer, the things that I would look for are, first and foremost, their latest work and a portfolio. Does their style match your style? Can you see details well, if they were meant to be? These days, you need to become an educated consumer, as photographers aren't regulated! The problem with this is that the price of good cameras have come down, and many people get one and decide to start a business out of the blue, just like an analogy like if you go get car mechanic tools, it does not make you a car mechanic! Does you and the photographer get along? What and when was their latest course? A professional photographer usually uses professional gear, and they are always trying to find ways to stay current and advance their skills.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I truly wish that clients understand that included in your price is a part of all the expensive equipment (camera, main & backup, a bevy of lenses, flash and backup flash, background stands and backgrounds, professional studio lighting, prep time, travel expenses, photography time, editing time, web design, affiliations, multiple types of software, props, and so much more (like taxes)! It isn't a click and download!
