I don’t usually write emotional reviews, but I wanted to capture what just happened. I was trying to move two heavy boxed IKEA Billy bookcases up my stairs by myself — not sure why I thought I could do that — but I tried anyway and ended up getting stuck when I got halfway up. Needless to say, I ended up having to leave one box sitting in the middle of the steps. I seriously had no idea what I was going to do. I came to Thumbtack searching for a contractor and found Danylo. When I explained the situation, he didn’t hesitate to say he would help. He drove 30 minutes to my home at 11 PM, and when he arrived, he picked up each box and carried them up the stairs and into my house by himself. From the moment he arrived, his kindness stood out. He didn’t rush, didn’t judge, and didn’t make me feel like an inconvenience. He handled everything gently and professionally, turning what felt overwhelming into something manageable. That level of compassion is rare — and it genuinely brought tears to my eyes. What’s especially cool is that I wasn’t even paying attention to the fact that he’s a painter. I was just looking for someone to move the boxes, but his portfolio shows that he is a phenomenal painter. While he was here, he also took the time to assess my walls and walk me through the next steps needed before painting. He and his wife were both incredibly kind, respectful, and supportive — it felt less like hiring help and more like being helped by people who truly care and truly enjoy what they do. I am beyond grateful for their help and will absolutely be hiring them again. If you’re looking for someone who is skilled and genuinely kind, this is who you want. Thank you again, Danylo.
