FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't work by the hour because I like to take my time especially with new clients. It pretty much depends on the size of the dog, the condition of the coat, the type of haircut, how much scissoring there is to do, and if you want anything done creatively.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know both parts of my "customers" both 2 legged and 4 legged. It makes my job easier knowing that Mom and/or Dad, and the pet are able to trust me. Especially with the more shy or difficult pets. Id rather take a little bit more time and get down on their level to ensure not only the safety of me and the pet, but to let them know I'm not just a groomer... I can be thier buddy too.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started out as a bather when I was 17 years of age, and eventually ended up as an apprentice to a graduate of the NYC grooming school. I spent almost a year working under him. In the past 12 years of grooming, there's something new I learn about everyday. I am certified by the NAPCG, National Association of Professional Creative Groomers. And attend online seminars to continue my education.
