Adam is extremely knowledgeable about what exercises you need to accomplish your goals. He readily offers extra tips and encouragement. Working out has never been my favorite but Adam taught me boxing and I finally found a workout that I love. He was always on time and I trained with him in my home. If I wanted advice about other exercises, foods to eat, or almost any other health/workout issue, he would always give me excellent advice. Anyone who hires Adam as a trainer is not only going to get a great workout, you will spend time with a quality human being.
I have been doing fitness and martial arts training with John Holt at The Academy for about 5 months now, and I have benefitted GREATLY from his instruction. John is extremely knowledgeable in anatomy, physiology, exercise science, and martial arts. He designs fun and challenging exercise programs from a diverse and extensive repertoire of exercises that emphasize compound, functional movements. John has 7 black belts in a variety of martial arts - Muay Thai, Kali, Silat, Jun Fan, Jeet Kune Do, Grappling, and Boxing. Sharif is a knowledgeable trainer who knows his stuff! I just completed my second week of training with him. He spent time with me in the beginning and we discussed my goals and he put me through a fitness assessment to see where I was that physically. The workouts are customized for and my goals. He put me on a very sensible eating program and surprisingly I'm not hungry and have managed to make it through my nightly snack attacks without falling off the wagon. The workouts are tough but doable and he is very encouraging with getting you through the exercise. I am so happy to have found him. If you hire Sharif you will not be disappointed!

iChoosefit is an all-inclusive, group fitness program-- a minimum of three days per week nutrition coaching with full access to all other locations. The program is categorized into three days: strength training, boot camp boxing and traditional boot camp. Strength training will turn your body into a fat-burning furnace by building lean muscle that will burn calories even in your sleep. The strength training includes kettle bell training, sand bag training, medicine balls and pull-up machines. Boot camp boxing is a fun, full-body workout that requires less running to get more cardio. Runners love it because they are not getting much of out the 15-20 minutes of running in other boot camps. They normally run to the front and even if there are other campers who challenge them, it simply does not challenge their bodies. Runners rave about boxing because they feel their entire core. It is not boring like a gym workout, and after a three-minute round they are out of breath as if the performed fifteen minutes of fast-paced running. "I can run on my own, but I cannot get boot camp boxing anywhere else." Beginners love it because they have a hard time with running. Beginners have commented on how it is discouraging to feel like they are holding back the group. They love boxing because they receive a total body workout and receive the same benefits as an elite athlete with a three-minute round! Day three is a traditional boot camp where we take you through a fun workout.
I have enjoyed studying Tai Chi with Sifu Justin Harris for the past four years, after studying Tae Kwon Do the prior twenty years. Sifu Harris teaches health, meditation, and martial arts. Including the martial applications with references and quotes from the Tai Chi Classics. Sifu Harris has a large knowledge base of other martial arts styles, techniques, and training methods honed by years of practice. He is a great teacher and easy to approach with questions.
My experience has been excellent! The workouts that I signed up for are one hour each and the combination of upper and lower body exercises have given me greater definition as well as muscle tone within a shorter amount of time. It is the first time that I have hired a trainer and truly seen results. Each workout is custom to my needs and at a pace that I feel comfortable. Definitely worth the time and investment!
Since 1999, Chang Lee's Martial Arts has been providing instruction in Taekwondo and the martial arts in the Roanoke, TX area.
