Molding or baseboards,
Terrible experience!!!!!!! The best part of the service was when handymen showed up on time, dressed up in uniform, put the carpet next to the front door, put the cover shoes on. Now the worst part I ordered the service to install curtain rods in my new house. 22 windows. There were 2 men instead of 1 I ordered. They started at 2:30 from the master bedroom. It took them 2.5 hours to install rods in the room (6 windows). The first hour the only thing they were doing was stepping from one foot to another and just measuring. Keep measuring and measuring the same spot all the time. Finally the rods were installed almost fine but some noticeable places were crookedly. And they left. So there was no estimate for the next day, both of them told that it would take the whole next day to finish the job. Can you imagine that to install rods in a house could cost you a $1000 or more?!! Then the manager called me and offered another team or send the same team next day. I refused to hire them again. My husband installed all rods in the house in 4 hours on his own doing the same measurements. And fixed the rod in master bedroom. Next day the manager gave me a call asking how I would I want to pay. And presented the amount of around $285. I was shocked!!!! For what??? She told that the handyman costed $65/h, but there were 2 of them, so $130/h total. I didn't order 2 of them. And they were just watching on my windows the whole first hour, why I should pay for someone watching on my windows?? Clearly understood they didn't know how to do the job. And in the end we were to fix what they have done after 2.5 hours. So I told the manager that was not going to pay the total price for that disaster. And especially when the job wasn't done appropriately. Handymen even didn't let me check their job in the end, just left. And they didn't vacuum the floor after themselves, and left my walls dirty from markers. Freshly painted walls. Why should I pay for that??? The manager kept telling me that I had to pay the full price and that I was to send one of them back if I didn't want to pay for both of them. Again, I ordered only 1 person. How was I supposed to choose between them whom to send back as long as I didn't hire 2. Based on what? What criteria? So she was rude and kept explaining me that everything was my fault and the job was done appropriately. But didn't have any evidence of that. I even offered them to send the pictures of that "high quality job". I won't ever use their service again. And would never recommend to anyone. One of my worst experiences of using Thumbtrack to hire a professional.Mar 25, 2017Verified
Left the TV unconnected to the cable service. Had to call AT&T and have a technician come out and plug it in. Did not seem to understand the Ethernet connection. Otherwise, friendly and courteous, and very careful about every step of the process. Can't send a photo at this time.Mar 11, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We can provide an hourly rate for our service or give you a quote for a particular project. If we provide a "quote" at a specific price, the price is not adjusted if the job takes less time or materials, or more time or materials, than we assumed in our quote. We can provide an "estimate" if you'd like that can be adjusted based on the actual time and materials required to perform the job. If we perform work based on an hourly rate, there's typically a one hour minimum since we do not charge a "service call fee" or "trip charge".
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We have experienced, seasoned professionals that service property as their profession. We've even taken it to the top tier of professionalism and experience with licensed, "Master" level credentials. Our licenses mean we are regulated by the State of Texas, and in particular the State Board of Plumbing Examiners and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. To be licensed you have to meet certain formal training requirements, have a minimum number of on-the-job training hours and pass a State exam.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Don't let the limited number of reviews discourage you. We are new to Thumbtack but our experience is deeply rooted. The company principals have spent more than 80 years combined managing and maintaining property for investors and individual property owners. Of the thousands of service companies that we've encountered, few have been good enough to recommend to someone else. We decided to create our own best of breed service company that solves most maintenance and repair needs with one call. Our focus is on providing a service that excels so that you'll call on us again or pass our name along. Your satisfaction is guaranteed!
