Christopher specializes in Salsa and Line Dance and is from Mexico City. Allyson, a native Texan, is an avid two-stepper. They both regularly enjoy dancing around town and thrive in Austin; where the Live Music Capital of the World does not disappoint. They also regularly take classes themselves; as to better explain counting steps and gaining fluency in movements. They specialize in getting students to flow in a creative way and to get out of nervousness or tension.

If I could write a memoir about how amazing my experience was from start to finish with Texas Two Step, I would!! But this review only allows for so many characters. Allyson was fantastic!! Highly highly highly recommend!! She is the best two-step instructor in Austin!! I hired her for a large family gathering & 60th birthday party combo and she was out of this world. Truly went above and beyond and really knows her craft of dance AND how to teach it to ALL age ranges and differing dance levels as well - all at the same time!! She’s a super pro!!! Hire her for your next event - you won’t regret it!! She is super adaptable to the needs of your specific event - for example we divided into two separate group sessions!! This was by far the biggest hit of the party. Highly highly recommend and absolutely will be using her again!!!! Thanks again Allyson!! ☺️🤠🤗

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hi! Welcome to Two Step Lessons. Dance sessions are for one hour at $95. This includes a free space to dance (park or rec center) and music. Wear boots or leather-soles. If you are really wanting to gain some clarity on dancing, consider taking a 3, 6, or 9, or 12 pack class. We will build on what you learn with each lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We typically ask what your dance goals are. We start then with the basic steps and watch for common hangups or mistakes. We then move onto adding in combinations - making them more fluent with each combination learned. At the end of the lesson - we put it all together for you. If desired, we can video the combos you learned during the lesson; so you can practice on your own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have 25 years of combined dance experience and have taken numerous workshops in dance. We are ever expanding our knowledge- Western Swing, Ballroom, and Country Swing are all different dances that require different steps. We recently travelled to San Antonio to workshop dips, tricks, and western swing.
