Introduction: Lets go for a run...or just cuddle! Hi, I'm Anne, and I am an absolute dog lover, as well as professional care-taker. I am excited to have the opportunity to spend time with new furry friends through Thumbtack! I have been a dog owner since I was in elementary school, and somewhat recently lost my best friend and constant companion of 15+ years (Penny the Min Pin) two years ago. It was through my friendship with Penny that I personally experienced the healing power of the canine/human bond, and the many positive health affects that such a bond brings! As a RN/FNP who now works from home, I strongly believe in the equal importance of all aspects of health, and how our social, environmental, spirtual and physical well-being are all connected. It would be my honor to help maintain, and even increase the restorative bond between you and your dog. Besides caring for my own animals since the age of eight, I have 20+ years of pet-sitting experience, and I have been a medical foster parent for local dog shelters for 15+ yrs, both experiences have entailied caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, temperments, and medical conditions. In fact, my new fur baby "Bones" is a "failed" Hurricaine Harvey foster. Bones (15lbs, 2.5 yrs, spayed/healthy/and up-to-date on all vacinations) is a healthy, fun-loving pup who loves the companionship of other dogs (big and smal, old and young)! I now work from home full-time and her steadfast presence will guarantee that your loved one not only has the care and supervision of a caring and responsive human (thats me!), but also the much needed comraderie that most dogs need and enjoy to fully thrive- not to mention the energy expenditure that comes from such socialability! Although I am not a certified vet-tech, as mentioned above I have been a RN for 10 yrs, and a Nurse Practitioner for the past four. Obviously, human and canine medicine are very differnent, but many principles remain the same! I have also gained a lot of knowledge on how to care for medical canine problems through fostering dogs with various medical conditions, as well as through caring for my own dogs. As a bonus, I also have a best friend and a cousin who are vets on speed-dial:) Because I want to offer as attentive care as possible, I am opting to limit the amount of dogs I care for per day to no more than three (including Bones), depending on size. Although I do not have a fenced yard, I do have access to enclosed dog park my apt. complex, and two other dog parks within walking distance (including Zilker). I take walks with Bones every couple of hours each day, and am certain I can meet any specific care needs you request. I am generally very flexible with doggy day care hours, although my rate is set for a 10 hour day, extra and/or evening hours can be arranged for a slight additional fee. I can't wait to meet you and your fur baby! I live less than a mile from Zilker and the Hike and Bike Trail, and I love to taking dogs to both places both to exercise and socialize (if appropriate/have owners permission). I equally enjoy making everyone feel comfortable and cared for in their new environment, and will go out of my way to make sure that occurs. If I can't meet this need or if feel like your loved one could benefit from a different environment/care situation, I will always be honest and let you know. My goal is to make this a fun, healthy, and happy experience for everyone involved!

Not only did Anne feed my cat, Phil, and then clean out his bowl, she stayed and played with him and his toys. And she also let him nap a bit in her lap!
